Does this scientific illiterate understand a single thing about food? Or why many of us are unhappy at some of the changes he seems to want to steamroller through? As you read further, you might also ask what psychology qualifications he has to diagnose hysteria and paranoia? (And isn't hysteria a somewhat sexist term?)

Boris Johnson hints at allowing GM food imports from US

PM attacks ‘hysterical’ fears about US food standards, saying UK will be ‘governed by science, not mumbo-jumbo’

Boris Johnson has hinted at allowing genetically modified food to be imported from the US after Brexit as he called for an end to “hysterical” fears about American products coming to the UK as part of a trade deal.

He also said Britain would be “governed by science, not mumbo-jumbo” when looking at whether imported food was acceptable for consumption in the UK. Johnson criticised “America bashers” who take a “hysterical” attitude towards US food and view it as “inferior”.

And now the science, a really good, detailed bit of real science. Definitely, 100% NOT mumbo-jumbo:

“I look at the Americans, they look pretty well nourished to me. And I don’t hear any of these critics of American food coming back from the United States and complaining … So let’s take some of the paranoia out of this argument.”

(Aside from the fact that you can be a critic of American food and never even go there in order to come back.)

Boris is going to make my predictions of him stirring up the public against him come true

Ah well Boris is consistent
Every day he makes an even bigger mistake than the one he made the day before.
What new crassly stupid and damaging idea will he concoct tomorrow?
He is going to have to be creatively original soon, simply because he has run out of broken promises and commitments.

Frictionless trade. And they don't even know what is supposed to happen! It is guesses and assumptions.

Ports plan for Brexit Irish Sea checks
The biggest operator of ferries in the Irish Sea has confirmed that there will be checks, inspections and some new infrastructure for trade, and it wants to know what the government will pay for.

The plans will affect both trade with the Republic of Ireland and within the UK between Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as a result of Brexit.

Stena Line said that its working assumption was that new checks would be carried out in British ports.

This sad
Motorbike firm which said UK would thrive outside of EU goes into administration
And an illustrious company it was too
Norton
"

In September 2018 Norton Motorcycles owner Stuart Garner claimed he had no fears about Brexit, and said that it would be a "huge opportunity" to negotiate trade deals around the globe.
He claimed that the UK was better prepared for Brexit than the media would have us believe.
"It's what the country voted for so let's get on with it," he told the Leicester Mercury.

Commenting on the future for his iconic British business, he said: "I believe we will thrive outside the EU. There may be some short-term speed bumps but we'll come out of it stronger.
"We're a strong-willed nation and will make it succeed."
He added: "And I don't buy the media line that we are unprepared for Brexit."

A year ago, Stephen Barclay, the outgoing Brexit Secretary, said Norton was an example of a "great business" that would thrive when Britain leaves the EU.
However less than two years later, in the same week the UK was to leave the European Union, the firm has gone into administration after reportedly struggling to pay a tax bill. The owner also blamed Brexit uncertainty."

I remember mine with fond memories and now a tinge of sadness
It was a 1960 650 SS and three years old when I got it, with a seized engine due to of all things broken rings in the right hand cylinder, nothing that a rebore and new pistons and rings wouldn't fix!
Best handling of any bike I ever rode.
That's nothing to do with Brexit. They've been in financial trouble since 2012. Most of what they've done has been with borrowed money, and they didn't make enough profit to pay it back. They put a lot of resources in to the Atlas, but basically ran out of money, so can't put it into production. A saviour may still turn up.

Brexit latest: The four EU trade rules UK won’t abide by anymore

And in there is this chestnut

"Last year, Mr Johnson promised new state aid rules for the UK after Brexit, claiming the current EU system made it more difficult for the Government to protect the British steel industry in 2015.

Forgetting we voted against increased tariffs on cheap Chinese steel and refused to rescue steel industry

From the Independent
Boris Johnson 'refusing to be honest' about likely damage from Brexit, expert study warns

Prime minister on course to strike only 'barest of bare bone deals' by end of 2020, think tank concludes - and failing to be upfront about 'trade-offs'

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/boris-johnson-brexit-plan-news-damage-report-2020-a9315291.html

Johnson keeps referring to a trade deal "like Australias"?

Clearly the man is unhinged enough to think we will fail to see
Australia doesn't have a Trade deal with the EU, so this is just another way of describing a No deal Brexit

Raab makes an admission
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/uk-safety-security-brexit-terrorists-criminals-dominic-raab-a9315476.html
UK's ability to track suspected terrorists and major criminals is at risk because of Brexit, Raab admits

Access to vital EU crime-fighting databases could be lost, MPs told – after Theresa May warns they ‘keep us safe’

Not a good start Boris
Interesting why this came out when it did:

The warning came in answer to a question from Theresa May, who had made security co-operation a key aim of her Brexit negotiations. She warned the measures “keep us safe”.

Did someone say Brexit would be bad for Nissan workers?
maybe, maybe not. If Nissan keep the current level of production, they will have to gain additional sales in the UK to make up for the shortfall in EU sales. Nissan makes 415,000 cars last year, only 20% of that number(83,000) are sold in the UK. If they can't export as many, then they have to take sales from other car companies.
Zero sum game comes to mind. The UK will be opened to more cars from other countries like China. On the balance of probability, I think Nissan workers will be hit, same as other carmakers.

Nissan have denied this plan completely. Who to believe?

Fancy one of the New passports?
https://www.theneweuropean.co.uk/top-stories/express-blue-passports-and-monty-python-reference-1-6480394

There was some surprise when the newspaper ran a story with a photograph of one of those 'iconic' passports - with the wrong wording on it.

Placed alongside an existing burgundy passport with the 'European Union' messaging on it, the Brexiteers' version had the message 'your mother was a hamster'.

Brexit: the comedy continues, it seems Borisitis (Ability to cock up everything) has smitten the right wing press too.
Alas the picture has been withdrawn
However here it is, enjoy.

What I love about the internet is that you can't "unthink" something that has happened
What a shame it was spotted, Imagine the scene at the passport control in Spain when someone produces one of these.
