Many actions of protest can appear childish to those looking on. But those who are involved might well feel they have few other ways of expressing their opinions in public.
I’m on their side, I don’t think we should be leaving, but I’m mature and responsible enough to realise that the time for protesting and carrying out this sort of childish tantrum is over. Especially for a public body such as a council. They have just driven a wedge into an existing large split within the people they serve. They should be trying to bring people together. Flying no flag at all would be the correct approach. But what do we expect from these mongoloids who eat their own hands because they mistake their fingers for carrots. Totally unfit for public office with this sort of behaviour.

Welcome to local democracy. This is only a smigin of what has been endured in NI for decades. But closely at the date. Recycling old information is very close to trolling.

Nice to see Labour are united.
I had a London station on yesterday whilst driving. A caller actually suggested Diane Abbott should be next leader? He was serious.. I think.

19th March is a while ago, wonder if Oxford have changed their minds. Might be stricter instructions from Cummings this time...

I think there is a London-Disconnect happening. Power and decision making happens within the Capitol, but things are very different across the remaining land mass of the U.K. The country and London are definitely out of kilter with each other.

I’m not sure what you are getting at here. Can you explain please?
Not my place, but think Danidl was alluding to original placement of this article in media recently, and not us posters? (It must have been re published to get seen recently, ie towards top of a search) Giving impression its "news" when actually its "olds". Besides policy may well not have changed, so it could be regarded as "news" anyway.

I purposely included the date in my response so that you could all see when it was published without having to follow the link. I think not trolling on grounds of clarity.

I simply searched for a photo of an EU flag - and happened across that one. Seems quite appropriate.

Err yes, but its busiest media site in Europe. (alledgedly)
If they measure by the amount of absolute garbage that flows onto a computer should you be unfortunate enough to visit it, it could well be the busiest site in the world. (Despite a pretty effective set of filters being in place.)

Prior to having half-way decent broadband, I simply had to avoid accessing it as otherwise our connection was tied up for ages with that one page. Now, I simply choose to avoid it as much as I can. (One of my roles in the world requires me to look occasionally. Sadly.)

The time for this sort of bad tempered childish nonsense is over. We are leaving, I’m not happy about it, but this pathetic divisiveness will achieve nothing. What outcome is this council hoping for by flying the flag? What is the strategy? There is no plan or strategy, it’s just ugly immaturity. idiots.
What is immature is that because of our first past the post electoral system we have what amounts to an elected dictatorship dragging the majority of the public that don't want to leave the EU out against their will, and all because of an advisory only referendum.
When people feel they have been robbed they make what appears to be futile protests.
For the sake of all of us we have to hope that is as far as protest goes in the near future.
And all to protect offshore Tax haven swindles .
All effectively for nothing, just a gamble on a gang of fools in the vain hope of them getting lucky.

Which country?. There would be a disconnect between London and other parts of England. There would be a connect between London thinking on Brexit, and Scotland and NI.. As for the Welsh , my opinion is that they somewhere between dispair and Stockholm syndrome.

it will be alright on the night.
BJ may say this and that, but so far, he has not put the UK at risk of falling out with the EU.

See this link , under your alter ego name's deletion number.
.
What is very sad is that both flecc and Woosh were willing to forget all past and offered olive branch. (they were both supportive of VFR when he first reappeared on here, all long term. posters knew his history) Their actions made me reassess my own and I apologized to VFR.
He has chosen to ignore all that, carry on his petty hypocritical stance with Barry and didnt even bother to acknowledge my apology. Sort of says a lot about him.
As mentioned earlier, OG's stance is probably best. Ignore him.

As I have said in the past, without a doubt there will be a trade deal, with the EU and America, and we will probably tread water for a while, but the long term prospects are not good for several reasons
  1. The incompetence of our political class that imagines we don't need a real plan to re-industrialise
  2. The incompetence of those responsible for managing what industry remains in our hands
  3. The greed and short termism prevalent in our banking and investment class
And that is without making allowance for how volatile public opinion can be if and when things get rough.
Where once we were a danger to other nations, now we are our own worst enemies.
