He has been in contact with Iraq today. He is in a very precarious place.

Oh no, enhanced suspicion level! The forum owners have clearly put their best man on this case. It must be me what done it! :)

I am still waiting to be told what it is that I am suspected of doing and under what authority you are investigating me. That is a reasonable request, given the circumstances.

It's Mr Shittpeas actually, but you may call me Barry, we are all friends on here.
.. no not all friends!.
..and Dveh ,I am delighted that you have returned, your technical insights were always informative.

I wonder how long before some enterprising armaments manufacture decides to sell the technology of these armed drones to Iran in the hope of drumming up competition?
Perhaps they don't need help?
In March 2019, Iran’s defense ministry launched a massive drone drill which involved flying more than fifty drones simultaneously, including Iranian versions of the U.S. RQ-170 Sentinel stealth drone and the American MQ-1 Predator. Commenting on the drill, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the commander of the IRGC's Aerospace Division, said the presence of squadrons of drones in the airspace of a small area heralds “the rise of new air power in Iran.”
In their shoes I would be tempted to respond to the Americans with a dose of their own medicine.
And I just came across this
"Although U.S. sanctions interrupted Iran’s ambitious drone program several times, it didn’t stop it. For years, the IRGC managed to circumvent these sanctions and smuggle key components necessary to manufacture drones from several countries such as Germany, France, the United States and others. In one noticeable case, authorities in Frankfort charged two Iranian-Germans with smuggling sixty-one German-made aircraft engines between 2008 and 2009 to Iran for its Ababil III drone program. "

Where there's a business opportunity, as they say...

On the face of it these are Kamikaze vessels against modern defence systems, but of course they could get lucky , or someone on the other side get sloppy.
One of them, allegedly, can fire torpedoes capable of 400 mph. (Rocket propelled with a exhaust heat vapourisng water infront of it, torpedoe travels in a bubble continually) I do suspect they could close Straits, they dont have to take on Warships, just close down passage for commercial.???
Apparently Iran have hinted at another Lockerbie.(many thought they were responsible ???)

The MQ1 had very limited offensive capability.Their later MQ2 has an offensive primary roll, and USA have has many pilots for them (sat at home) as all other types combined.)
USA will be leaders in anti drone technology.)
I suspect a downed passenger aircraft as more likely. They, ve almost said as much today but could be a distraction...

According to the Evening Standard Hezbollah leader Nasrallah says US citizens are off limits for Soleimani revenge: they cannot be touched

But of course there is always the Pentagon

These last set of postings are positively ghoulish. We should ,in so far as anyone can,be reducing tensions ,rather than racking them up.

The best thing to do is understand the ramifications of any given situation, this is not racking up tensions simply sharing information, where usually all that is available is propaganda from one side.
Brexit is a classical case where not "racking up the tension" by not understanding the causes and effects of events can lead.
The study of History both past and present is not something to shirk in the imaginary belief bad things will go away.
I hardly think the ten of us on here are going to "rack up tensions" by examining the capabilities of the various sides in this farce brought about by a lunatic in the wrong job at the wrong time making the wrong call for the wrong reasons.
How many wrongs make a right?

All any of us are doing is re posting info seen recently. I hardly think anything we could say could rank up tension more than a 3 ton drone firing ordanance onto cars outside airports in middle east. But, if your delicate nature is offended by reality of what will now happen...... Stay away....but you, ll be reading about something similar to things mentioned in not too far distant future. There will be reprisals. Its inevitable. The real worry is then what from Trump.

Fair point. As normal.
I think most of us are direct in here, accusing a new poster for doing exactly what VFR has done is rather more than direct. Its hypocrisy. I find VFR and his previous incarnations aggresive but he perhaps sees mine as same. But you are correct, water under bridge and all that.
Apologies VFR.
I didn't accuse anybody of anything. I simply asked how he found his way to this thread because his activity doesn't fit the paradigms that I have in my head. I can't see why you got so excited. A simple explanation about how he did it would have put me at ease, but I still don't have it. I have an excellent record of calling things out in the forum when things are not what they should be. Often, everybody jumps up and down when I call it, but show me some evidence of where I was wrong.

Neither of us have anything to call out. Its a forum. An almost anonymous one. So what if you and Barry have changed IDs. Move on. Subject dropped.

What's happened to Brexit then? Anybody going to the party on the 31st? I hear Union jacks are selling extremely well at the moment.

I have a friend who's dying of prostate cancer. He has a massive flagpole in his garden from which he wants to raise the flag on the 31st, but his old one was completely shredded, so I bought him a new one for Xmas, which seemed to cheer him up no end.

Some things do need to be called out. We had a guy with two accounts, where he would express strong (weird) opinions on one account and then back himself up from the other. He also used posts from both accounts to gang up on some members to a point where some might call it bullying. The funny thing was that nobody believed that the two were the same after he got called out until he eventually got banned. They couldn't figure out why the second guy got banned, when he hadn't posted anything that warranted it, so they were all asking for his reinstatement.

It's similar on Twitter and Youtube where people and organisations use multiple accounts to swarm the narrative. Suppose 100 new members suddenly appeared one day in this thread all spouting the same narrative and ganging up on you when you disagreed, then you found out that it was all from the same guy. Wouldn't you want someone to do something about it.

Also, there is a well known trader, who posts on the forum. He has started several stooge accounts to falsely review and promote the stuff he sells. People make decisions on what to buy based on what they see other people raving about on the forum, which is obviously a problem, when what they're being told is false and they've put their money down.
