Only the latter paragraph? You are being generous there Flecc. And I find your latter paragraph simply unbelievable, it's so far removed from the truth you really are very out of touch with ground floor reality and possibilities

he earns pretty good money from his political career.More like payment for the last 35 years work of hard slog making sure the political class actually listened to what we were saying to them.
I prefer to be polite and minimise criticism.Only the latter paragraph? You are being generous there Flecc.
Whereas in the old days there were men walking with barrows and a brush and scoop and it was very safe..., Now public sanitation requires a driving license, A Driving licence requires a theory and visual test, so those without reading cannot compete. Care assistant once ment just a kind heart, and endless patience, and suited slow learners,it now requires certificates, level 3 or 4 on HSE/NHS written comptency tests, with multiple choice questions. One cannot work on a building site without having a Safework pass, ..again requiring a bit of paperwork. Even the pig man of my youth collecting the swill is long gone. Coal delivery is virtually dissapeared etc.Absolutely no rose tinted spectacles, I often annoy those with them when I insist on the facts from the past from my partially eidetic memory. Of course there are those who insist there is no such thing as an eidetic memory, even when proven to them beyond doubt. Once again the religion that science can all too easily become.
And I find your latter paragraph simply unbelievable, it's so far removed from the truth you really are very out of touch with ground floor reality and possibilities.
Whether refuse can be cleared from a very difficult location by automation isn't in question. Nor is it in question with a narrow vertical drain that can just accept a slim man to manually dig out out to several feet deep.
But neither are ever going to happen due to the immense cost and complexity of automating them in each infinitely variable situation, compared with the miniscule cost of one often uneducated man. I'm speaking here of two actual situations on my doorstep, the latter within the last couple of months, the former weekly.

Investigations, meetings and committees are great hiding places for the incompetent. They can look busy without actually having to do anything or make a decision.Tony Blair lost Corbyn GE. Its official. If Laboue party completely rids itself of him and his Cronies they will win next time.
Why is it powers that be need to conduct investigations into things public know full well the answer to. Does Mrs McCluskey get up in a morning and ask Len what he wants for breakfast and he replies a week later after a full investigation.
But things are looking up. Milliband (the one stood second in queue for looks and brains) is conducting a full study into why they lost. He, s promised to have a full answer in next 6 years.
Utter nonsense, showing once again how out of touch you are with the realities:What it means is that those people who had poor literacy and numeracy, could dissapear in the past, but cannot in the world of today.
About the only position open is fruit gathering and potato picking.
Who are the "WE" you keep talking about when the majority now don't want to leave the EU?More like payment for the last 35 years work of hard slog making sure the political class actually listened to what we were saying to them.
I may as well give up on this one. I was not suggesting that the person who drove the truck needed an honours degree, and that "reducto ad absurdum" argument does not do you credit... Although I suspect that 50 might row in here and suggest it would be in media studies or social studies.Utter nonsense, showing once again how out of touch you are with the realities:
The man who dug out our deep narrow drain by hand wasn't driving the van that brought him, manual workers rarely work singly. The man who drove, who in your fantasy world presumably had an honours degree to do that, was the person who hauled up the buckets of dug out detritus.
Only one man in a refuse collection crew drives the truck.
In any case getting a driving licence only requires a minimal level of education so is open to virtually all.
Your tasks selectivity has carefully avoided all the many situations which for practical and cost reasons will never be automated. Your vertical shafts mention shows you haven't even read and understood what I posted.
Perhaps you didn't even understand my reference to the religion of science, despite you being one of the faithful.

Do you attend lots of meetings? You don’t come across as a very practical man, more as one who creates obstacles as over complicates simple situations.Whereas in the old days there were men walking with barrows and a brush and scoop and it was very safe..., Now public sanitation requires a driving license, A Driving licence requires a theory and visual test, so those without reading cannot compete. When is the last time you saw a team of workmen digging trenches ,those mini jcb diggers do that work in hours.? , Similarity kerb laying . The add ons to small hydraulic machines cover most eventualities. Those vertical shafts are done with augers , or pile drivers which are sophisticated automation. What it means is that those people who had poor literacy and numeracy, could dissapear in the past, but cannot in the world of today.
About the only position open is fruit gathering and potato picking.
That’s a good start. Might you find it within yourself to extend that to everything? It is, after all, Christmas.I may as well give up on this one.
You, ve conducted your own referendum then OG. Can you publish your results? Or have you conducted an extensive opinion poll...... based on sample size 1?? Or is your "fact" based on in here??Who are the "WE" you keep talking about when the majority now don't want to leave the EU?
As, indeed, threads about politics on ebike forums where sad gits use google to impersonate expertise to try to compensate for underachievementInvestigations, meetings and committees are great hiding places for the incompetent. Agreed, its not a criticism I get levelled at me often.Who said you came across as an "expert"?
You need to be able to read these websites before you know whats available!.Indeed.....They provide voice overs for non readers (in 20 languages)
Taking a theory test if you have special requirements
The Driver & Vehicle Agency (DVA) provides a number of facilities for people with special requirements. You should tell DVA about your special needs when you book your theory test to allow for reasonable changes to be made.www.nidirect.gov.uk
Kettles and pots. I made the committment that when you that is ..the UK leave with their Brexit ,then so will I . At present that is most likely the first day of Irish Spring 2021, when the Transition phase is completed. That’s a good start. Might you find it within yourself to extend that to everything? It is, after all, Christmas.
To the simple everything is simple and there is a simple solution .. usually wrong.Do you attend lots of meetings? You don’t come across as a very practical man, more as one who creates obstacles as over complicates simple situations.
Oh for goodness sake 54% voted for parties that were against Brexit or offered a referendum. 46% for parties in favour of leaveYou, ve conducted your own referendum then OG. Can you publish your results? Or have you conducted an extensive opinion poll...... based on sample size 1?? Or is your "fact" based on in here??
Because of stance Labour took we never actually found out if nation had or hadnt changed its mind. Strongly suspect from election results country actually hasnt changed its mind.????
But you are, I'll stand up for you!Agreed, its not a criticism I get levelled at me often.
