How times change with Farage complaining about recent peerage offers to everyone but him.

Yet in 2016 Farage wasn't complaining when Graham Brady, the chairman of the Tory 1922 committee was touting him for a Lordship and a role as US Ambassador.

I think he feels left out

You basically entrust the man with your tax money.
JC sells the idea that publicly owned utilities and services work better than free market economy.
He will do so not by raising taxes because he knows voters would not buy it but by borrowing which is basically taking out a mortgage on future taxpayers.
I happen not to believe this approach, so am I now a bigot?
I think your belief is largely based on the way Corbyn has been represented, with no hard knowledge of what he will do. If true that is bigotry.

I have no doubt that you would have reacted in the same way to Clement Attlee and his Socialist team, as so many did at the time, and if successful would have deprived us of the best government Britain has had in the 20th and 21st centuries.

I say for goodness sake lose the prejudice and give Corbyn a chance. Given the fickle UK English public he'd only get five years in office. In that time he wouldn't be able the match the huge harm that Blair and the Tories have done since 1997.

Corbyn would never have given us PFI and it's appalling legacy

Corbyn would never have taken us into the Iraq war. (or for that matter the unnecessary Falklands war at that earlier time).

Under Corbyn our NATO part in Afghanistan would have been low key like that of Germany and Belgium, without large loss of life.

Corbyn favours a single market and customs union so we wouldn't be losing the motor industry on leaving the EU as we are already doing. Or have such poor prospects.

And most of his borrowing would have the ability to pay back though it's investment potential.

I am more likely to believe almost anything and everything JC says over anything BJ has said, or will say.

No, I do not find him particularly appealing and question much of what he says. Much of the best political words I have heard in recent times have come from sources which hitherto might have been unexpected. Like PC.
The difference between BJ and JC is simply this
Boris is a man who should have appeared in court before now for a long list of very questionable acts. statements and lies. His incompetence will lead to disaster

Corbyn actually believes in Brexit and is hopelessly optimistic enough to think he can make it work.
He has made a mortal enemy of the state of Israel, guaranteeing to make his chances of success zero

Brexit under either will be an unmitigated disaster, and you can't put that right with a general election.

What's not to like? all roads lead inevitably to the IMF for bailout loans and then eating humble pie to rejoin the EU in time on their terms'

More chuckles on the Boris pantomime campaign trail...

"Boris Johnson's relationship with a US businesswoman who allegedly received favourable treatment when he was London Mayor is back in the spotlight.

ITV is due to broadcast an interview with Jennifer Arcuri tonight in which she complains that he "cast me aside like I am some gremlin".

Ms Arcuri says in the interview that she has kept his "secrets" but that her requests for media advice from him have been "blocked".

She she said when she called Mr Johnson’s personal phone after the story broke, she was passed to someone else who spoke to her in Chinese.

if you look closely, his ideas won't work.
The UK runs an endemic trade deficit (about 3% per annum) which is made good by FDI.
What he does, if followed up by future Labour governments, won't generate profit for government and deter foreign investment: trains, water, electricity, broadband, post office, social housing because the services are free or not meant to make a profit in the first place.
it just does not add up. There ought to be a law to stop future governments running large borrowing. If we were in the Eurozone, borrowing is capped at 3% (about £60 billions a year). JC would never be able to execute his plans.

Yes. Particularly when added to the other litany of insults, profanities, and racist comments .
Racist comments? Are you sure?

So let me make sure that I’ve understood this correctly.

Are you actually suggesting that a totally anonymous person, using a fabricated identity, presumably to protect themselves, can allege and take action for some form of hurt caused, by another totally an anonymous person, who is also using a made up identity?

I’m sorry to find myself saying this again, but I suspect that you are wrong. Had actual identifiable names been used, I might have a different view.

You must learn to accept that this forum is nothing more than strangers arguing with strangers.

This seems to have started as a result of trying to provide examples of successful state / government owned organisations. Because it’s Sunday, I’ll give you one for free, The United Kingdom’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The CAA is a golden standard upon which other nations base their National Authority for aviation matters.

Low labour cost and high returns make a country attractive to foreign companies and high FDI. It's why American FDI increased, lots, recently. Or why the uk or a deeply unequal consumerist dystopia like Singapore (or the uk) have much higher FDI than say germany. High FDI is by no means an unqualified good symptom for a national economy

our unusually high FDI is partly due to the attractive property market and easy money stash away and laundering.

Gross exaggeration. Firstly he would not be followed by further Labour governments as I'd already made clear and history shows, Blair's being pseudo Tory government.

Secondly, almost all of that list are not free. The profit from the break even among them comes from the society they create. Like that in arch Socialist Sweden for example, one of the EU's successes.

This discussion isn't going anywhere since you are fundamentally conservative in your outlook and have vision restricted by the mandatory blinkers.

I don't have that problem since I'm fully aware of all the very real defects of both Socialism and Tory capitalism. Accordingly I know the best outcome for ALL comes from them sharing power over time, only possible in our system by them alternating in office. After Blair's pseudo Conservatism and all the following years of the Tories, we are in desperate need of that changing, as the current position of the chaotic Brexit illustrates only too well.

If you think that you ,or I are anonymous while posting on line, you are sadly mistaken. You used IP addresses and unless your postings were all done from internet cafés or using clever VPNs ,all is findable. Ditto with everything I have written on this and other fora. Now it would not be my intention to persue this line..life is far too short. In the course of all my postings to this site ,I can be uniquely identified ..my Village, my education , my interests etc. So yes I do have a position. The only protection is that nobody is likely to bother.

Regarding Racism. Calling someone a leprechaun would count. Your comments regarding Ireland were demonstrably offensive. It is the classical excuse of the bully that it was all in jest.

I am glad that we can agree that there are some state organisations which are examplars of good practice, and I would bow to your superior knowledge regarding the CAA.
