If May held a GE there would be a strong remain vote that would split the vote,I suppose it would be us Remainers chance to have our own protest vote.
Anyone who stood on an anti-Brexit,anti-Heathrow,anti-HS2 manifesto would have a strong vote in London and the corridor Birmingham to London.
If the Liberals got their act together they would do a lot of damage to the Tories majority, they and the SNP would hold the balance of Power.
KudosDave
Isn't all this going to create a prolonged period of instability and uncertainty which is exactly what business doesn't need. If we are going to leave the quicker the better. The government should get behind Teresa May and show some spine. I imagine the rest of the world are laughing at our dithering and squabbling. Do what the country voted for in a free and fair way and get on with it

A lot of people made light of the Jo Cox murder
I don't remember that happening. Perhaps it's something which took place exclusively inside your head?

I do remember the remain supporter on question time last night wishing illness upon the children of Brexit voters.

I think this perhaps illustrates that the scum to which you refer is not exclusively associated with Brexit.

Have you ever considered a career as a circus clown? I think you would do rather well.

Blithely ignoring the authority of parliament and the High Court - that says enough about your views on parliamentary democracy, sovereignty and mob rule.....sorry! - law and order.

You are right though about other nations laughing at Britain - we have become a laughing stock, particularly when you consider the individual our government selected to represent the nation abroad in the role of Foreign Secretary.

why are people risking their lives to get here and leaving France which incidentally should be ashamed of how they have treated them.

That is correct, the French are ashamed but they also short of ideas what to do with thousands of people who have fled war zones to rejoin family in the UK. You really haven't been listening have you, they have been say the "why" all this time, I'll repeat: Most of them have family members already in the UK. The others speak (some) English not French so they think they will have a better chance of making a new start in the UK.

Remember thanks to the Touquet agreement the UK border is in Calais not in Kent so in theory it is the UK's slow treatment of immigration requests which is responsible, not the French authorities. For the moment these people have been bussed of to warmer more comfortable spots for the winter. Maybe they will learn French (they all speak English, or are trying)? Maybe they will take a liking to the spots where they are being put up and stay there? Maybe they will continue to try and rejoin their family already in the UK?

Then there is the Paris situation:
Would London be able to cope better with thousands of homeless and totally disorientated people living in tents under a motorway? Great! Come on then take them in and show us your superior organisation skills, after all it was you who started most of the wars they are fleeing in the first place.

If they have fled war zones, why are the overwhelming majority young men aged 18 - 30? (I include the manchilds who were recently allowed into the UK in that assessment).

The question still remains, if the UK is as mean spirited, racist and finished as some on here delight in telling us, then why do they risk their lives and resort to violence in order to reach the UK?

But France removed their border controls under schengen something the UK did not do. And then when it becomes a mess we are expected to assume the blame for it

There is no blame in what I said, having an agreement to do your border control in Calais is fine in normal times, these are not normal times. Sending two UK immigration officers (TV news number) to look at the files of thousands of would be immigrants is, how can I put it nicely, ... And they are working to an English clock, tea at four the whole nine yards...

There is no problem with Schengen in normal times, it has been proven to be a bad idea in times of war and hunger. Who could have predicted that your prime minister wanted to go down in history and associate himself with that Bush madman in a folly that has driven these people from their homes?

You will have to do better than this drivel if you wish to at least appear intelligent:

1. because this demographic represents canon fodder, they don't want to take arms or be shot, they are chicken and have ran away from certain death
2. because they don't have a family holding them back they can move faster and further from the zone of conflict
3. because the families seem to have stopped moving in Germany which has received over one million migrants

These are three guesses, you can probably knock these theories down in a single blow...

The question still remains, if the UK is as mean spirited, racist and finished as some on here delight in telling us, then why do they risk their lives and resort to violence in order to reach the UK?
Maybe they have reached a point of desperation where they no longer care any more? They are probably not reading the Telegraph so don't know about how they will be received on arrival... Their relatives and friends have told them they have a roof over their head and there is no bombing and sniper fire in the UK? Pop over and ask a few, they have the answer to that question.

I know you wanted to hear:

1. they have come to rape your women and children
2. they are sleeper terrorists
3. they have already killed their mothers and sisters to travel faster to achieve points one and two

But you can already read those answers to your question in the tabloids, known for only writing THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH. I'm amazed your tabloids are not delivered engraved in stone...

Why should we??
We should because they are human beings whom we displaced while kidding ourselves we have a 'special relationship' with the USA, as a result of which we willingly bombed their countries indiscriminately.

That Britain has accepted fewer migrants than the other major European nations is shameful. Fascists and racists, of course, have no shame.
