There will be free trade between NI and RoI in the short term. UK customs will be examining all shipping from NI to Scotland and Dublin to UK etc They will apply tariffs on any Non Identified as NI originating produce .Dublin port has set aside land for the equivalent . It is likely that Irish government agents will be lurking around the ports of Larne and Belfast recording the East West passage of containers. In the event that they appear south if the border soon after, then they will likely be stopped by Irish Customs. I would assume similar activity by UK agents in Rosslare.I`ll ask the same question again in light of the latest EU statement - What`s happening at the Border then ?? What preparations have been made there?? Or will we just settle for a free for all?
"The European Commission has today confirmed it has “completed its no-deal preparations”.
In a press release from the EU’s executive body this morning, Brussels declares “it is increasingly likely that the United Kingdom will leave without a deal on 12 April”.
These are of course highly unsatisfactory and a border will appear sooner or later.
