Poetic licence. This is what I denied "and is probably still leafing through his copy of the Daily Mirror"
Has that clarified the situation for you?
Jacques Gounon, the chief executive of Eurotunnel’s parent company, has said the awarding of the ferry operator contracts was “distortionary and anti-competitive” and would be a “unilateral breach not only of the concession agreement with Eurotunnel, but more widely of existing competition and state aid law”.I don't get this headline. I mean, is he actually welcome anywhere?

Fears of MASS STRIKES under a Corbyn government as McDonnell pledges trade union 'REVIVAL'
SHADOW Chancellor John McDonnell will today trigger fears of strike mayhem with a rallying cry for a surge in trade unionism if Labour wins the next General Election.
Forgetting that people actually have gained immensely over the years through the action of unions, and have the right even now to join them if they wish, despite years of right wing repression.
The Express not John Mc Donnell is in fact trying to trigger fear and as usual it will quite likely work as it usually does.
The pity is that though Unions have never damaged the wealth and well being of the people even a tiny fraction as much as Conservative Rule, this paper and others like it will never print that simple truth, they are after all simply handy propaganda organs not newspapers .

Good post!It never ceases to amaze me how the working public can be turned against unions. The Daily Fail portrays unions as some sort of evil enterprise working against the good of the economy and the country as a whole. What is even more amazing is the readers comments. Assuming that these comments aren't filtered so that only the "correct" opinion is published, the public seem to have bought into the anti-union rhetoric completely. They don't seem to care or realise what working conditions were like many years ago, or what struggles and sacrifices have been made in order to secure better working conditions.
Do the public honestly think that wealthy business owners would have invested in health and safety, paid sick leave and paid holidays without unions fighting for these rights? You only need to look at colliery accident reports pre-unions to see the attitude. Without exception, virtually every accident, roof falls, falling down unguarded mine shafts, run over by coal tubs etc, was put down to carelessness on the part of the deceased or crippled miner and the family left destitute. Shortly after the introduction of unions and safety inspectorates, you can see a huge shift in the outcomes of these accidents, with responsibility being placed on the mine owners and investment in safety ordered.
To add a bit of balance, modern unions have lost their way to a large extent. I think they have forgotten their purpose. My friend's wife had her contract torn up by a local authority. They literally sacked her on 31 March and offered her the same job on 01 April on less favourable terms after 27 years faithful service. Unison didn't want to know and were busily engaged in ant-fracking protests, marches against UKIP and LGBT celebrations at the time. I don't have an issue with any of this, but only if they have the resources left over once they have fully supported their members. Members rights at work should be the number one issue and that is not the case with modern unions.
The same sickening disease which has infected charities is breeding within the unions. Bosses earning more than the Prime Minister. Currently, I believe that there are over 38 union chiefs earning in excess of six figure salaries. Unacceptable. They are playing straight into the hands of the Mail and Express. Reform and re-focus on their purpose is urgently needed.
That is as near to a perfect sales pitch for Brexit as you are likely to find!another amusing titbit:
except the error (1000 x 21. = 21,000.), the rest seems perfectly believable.
Its not a good post at all. Its an outstanding one.Good post!
I don't think that they filter much - it's easy for the public to buy into the anti EU rhetoric, the EU helps it very well with all the crises that it has to deal with: Greek false public accounts, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Irish debt, Eurozone Stability and Growth Pact (SGP), terrorist attacks in several capitals, wars in Libya and Syria, immigration in the Med etc.It never ceases to amaze me how the working public can be turned against unions. I think JC is becoming more consistent on brexit.https://mol.im/a/6672133
I know its in daily mail but watch the video. It sums up why Labour and Corbyn's stance over EU is such a shambles. Nobody knows his stance on EU because he doesnt.. Or does he..??
It doesn't amaze me, the answer is that the public in general lacks a memory and only sees what's in front of its nose.It never ceases to amaze me how the working public can be turned against unions. I think I have the explanation. Tillson had a flurry of posting no less than eleven times in this thread on the 31st December and then stopped.I notice we are missing Tillson who last posted several times in this thread on 31st December.
