He means £80 billions a year times 15, OG.
The ERG cannot agree within themselves on their own proposals, they are a bunch of privateers.
Strange when this is the actual quote
"£80billion in revenue over the next 15 years", surely?
But basically I agree with you!

Not at the moment, but I am sure I heard on the radio last week that they are hoping to have a border force of around 10,000.
that would be a little too far from the original frontex's purpose.

Project Fear? Or reality?

'Tens of thousands' of jobs at risk, Jaguar Land Rover boss tells PM
Ralf Speth tells Theresa May he cannot be sure any of firm’s plants in Britain will continue to operate after Brexit

I might have suggested he was trying to get an almighty injection of government money - but the way things are going there won't be any.

He cannot be sure of anything in the future.

No one can.

Just a bit of hot air the Guardian and some of the extremists love to get in a lather about.

I'm more concerned about NHS land being sold off and lack of police funding tbh. That's real world stuff the Tories are ruining.

Hmm, one shouldn't dismiss this sort of thing so readily, these Fat cats prefer NOT to break ranks with the Government, and it's bad for their business to sound pessimistic.
But I agree with the rest of your post

From the BBC
"
Boris Johnson and other leading Tory Brexiteers have attacked Theresa May's Brexit plan at an event putting the economic case for leaving the EU without an agreement on trade.

The Economists For Free Trade report said the UK had "nothing to fear" from a "clean break" from the EU and using World Trade Organisation rules.

This could give an £80bn boost to the tax base and cut prices by 8%, it said.

But the claims were branded "Project Fantasy" by Labour MP Chuka Umunna.

And Chancellor Philip Hammond said the economic assumptions behind the analysis were "not sustainable" and out of line with other forecasts.

What a pathetic effort this so called "alternative plan" has turned out to be!
Talk about a Damp Squib!

Oh, if only we had some British-owned global businesses! The trouble with foreign ownership of.....well, just about every major industry and our utilities is that their loyalty is not to the workforce or the British electorate - they can up sticks whenever they wish and continue in another land of their choice while keeping their shareholders in receipt of dividends.

Mind you, none of our British-born celebrity entrepreneurs has ever shown any loyalty to their countrymen either, preferring to have their products manufactured in countries with some of the cheapest labour rates on the planet and using desperately poor people working in squalid conditions.

That is the reality today but wait till the apocalyptic, post-'Brexit' era begins to take hold. In short, you ain't seen nothing yet!

And just where does improved police funding come from when jobs are lost hand over fist and with them tax revenue?

The only reasons to beg for side deals are weakness and fear that there really would not be any other deal.

Barnier confronts Raab over discovery of Brexit no-deal letters to EU27

Exclusive: Letters ask states to engage with UK in side deals on transport if Brexit talks fail

Dominic Raab has been reprimanded by Michel Barnier after the EU’s chief negotiator discovered the British government had written to the 27 other member states asking for side negotiations on transport in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

The Brexit secretary was confronted by Barnier during their most recent meeting in Brussels over correspondence sent in recent days to EU capitals by the Department for Transport.

The letters had asked the member states to prepare to engage with the British government in side deals on aviation and haulage, to allow key trade flows to continue in the event of the UK and the EU failing to come to an agreement on leaving the union by 29 March 2019.

The transport secretary, Chris Grayling, had ordered the letters to be sent despite being told less than two weeks ago by the European commission’s most senior trade official, Violeta Bulc, that without a deal this autumn, there would be no other agreements made to protect the UK economy.

Barnier is said to have reiterated that message to Raab, telling the cabinet minister: “If there is no deal, there is no trust.”

Failing Grayling does it again. stupidity appears to be his trademark.
He is using a Woody Allen stratagem

"Instantly he reverted to the old Navajo Indian trick of Screaming and Begging"

No Nation deserves to suffer the fools we have to in it's Government.

Once upon a time, political sketches could be rib-ticklers. The amusement tends to be more on the wry side these days.

Hang on a mo....! I thought we were told that the UK held all the aces and that if push came to shove, the EU would see sense and give us everything we want?

I guess that was just another of those lies then as we seem to be begging with more than a hint of deceit and menace at the same time. How must other countries perceive us now? I suspect that most wouldn't touch the UK with a barge pole and any who do will take us to the cleaners, knowing how desperate we have become.

What a complete and utter shambles this has become!

Oh dear.. crys of dispair rent the Irish air today when it was announced that the current leader of the free world and global golfer will be unable to visit Ireland on his way to the WW1 celebrations in November..
Yesterday there was a threat to bring a certain balloon from the UK to Ireland.. obviviously a coincidence.

It’s a good job the melting in here doesn’t affect global climate change or else forget about leaving the the EU we would be looking to join Kevin Costners crew and drinking recycled wee.

And we’d be grateful.
