Each to their own, and I have huge respect for Bewley's, but for me and mine it has to be Barry's Gold label, followed closely by Lyons Gold label. Irish teas come mainly from East Africa, rather than India or China. It gives us a strong red tea, which in addition to being drunk black, takes milk easily, without turning grey.
How can you drink red tea black? :)

As someone who for many years has not taken milk in my tea, my taste has ended up on teas like high grown Ceylon.

.. oh dear yet another educational stint.. the tea favoured in Ireland, is not the red tea as in Rooibos, . It is a true tea from Rwanda, which are very black leaves, but which makes a red to golden brew, and which can accept either lemon or milk with equal aplomb.. incidentally black tea( non milked), allowed to cool with a slice of lemon, overnight and drunk next day is delicious... The lemon counteracting the tannin.
Learn from the experts , we Irish are the second most prolific tea drinkers in the world, way ahead of the UK, . Tea not Guiness is the national drink!.

.. so post BREXIt, Ireland will be in a class of its own in the EU, at three times the amount per capita as the nearest competitor.. the Neatherlands

My comment, How can you drink red tea black? :), had a smiley for a reason. :):):)

It was amusement in exactly the same way as when people ask for green tea black, or white tea black.

Fro the Brexit Broadcast Corporation this morning
"
Brexit: Third customs model devised ahead of cabinet talks"
"
The government had talked publicly about two potential customs options.

One, a customs partnership, would mean the UK applies the EU's own tariffs and rules of origin to all goods arriving in the country and then hands over what was owed for goods that subsequently end up in the EU.

The other, known as maximum facilitation or max-fac, aimed to employ new technology to remove the need for physical customs checks where possible.

The government has now deemed both options practically or politically undeliverable and is working on a third option, believed to involve "alignment" with the EU in regulations covering trade in goods but a looser relationship for services."

That still sounds like Cake and eat it, but anything no matter how unlikely could be agreed these days (then cancelled later of course)

And now the tory ratfest is in full swing
"

Sir Alan Duncan MP ✔ @AlanDuncanMP

Rees-Mogg’s insolence @Telegraph in lecturing & threatening PM is just too much. Risks debasing govt, party, country & himself. PM must be given maximum latitude & backing. The ideological right are a minority despite their noise & should pipe down. #totalsupportforMay&UK".

I wonder if this time TM has followed the EU's orders with this "new" proposal, otherwise it's doomed as usual.

You mean there are trenches dug by men that aren't Irish in England? Polish then!
No, they were actually English. Today's 21st century Irishmen are as likely to be in management.

Not their normal job though, one is our handyman who does casual building work for our self-run premises management company. The other a lad who works casually for him but is in building college part time.

May’s white paper is expected to propose the UK remaining indefinitely in a single market for goods after Brexit, to avoid the need for checks at the Irish border. While the UK is offering concessions on financial services, it wants restrictions on free movement of people – a long-standing no-go for the EU.

Jean-Claude Piris, a former head of the EU council’s legal service, said it would be impossible for the EU to split the “four freedoms” underpinning the bloc’s internal market, which are written into the 1957 treaty that founded the European project: free movement of goods, services, capital and people.

So, we are going to stay in the single market, surely if we stay in the single market we must stay in the customs union?
No wonder Gove/Rees-Mogg are defiant....this smacks of BRINO,Brexit in name only.
Instead of BRINO we would be better scrapping Brexit.
These negotiations are going nowhere, what she can get through her cabinet is never going to be accepted by the EU.

no.
Switzerland is participating in the SM for goods and not in the CU.

the issue for the EU and TM is simple: whatever deal both sides come up with, Parliament may vote it down if Labour and the SNP oppose it.
There are about 60 fanatics on each side: hard brexit and BRINO. Either side can cause big troubles.

Actually what is happening with the anti-dumping duty on chinese ebikes should give us a taste of how the EU will treat the UK after Brexit.
It is obvious that any trade situation that is adverse to the EU will be slapped down with tariffs.
When we were part of the EU we were the country that often vetoed EU tariffs that didnt suit our country. But when we are out of the club the EU will treat us,not unreasonably,as a third country and make life difficult for us to sell into the EU and we will have no veto.....TUV was always a big obstacle to selling into Germany.

that's true. If we are associate member in the SM, we would get a seat.

But that's with a very complicated setup of some 120 individual trade agreements which took seven years to create, and it's still not complete. Also they have no access to services, and that would really hurt us.

that's why Guy Verhofstadt reckons 10 years to get it sorted.
By that time, people would have wondered what the fuss was all about because if we are still out, it would be BRINO anyway.

From Reuters
"LONDON (Reuters) - A record 75 percent of major British companies are now pessimistic about Brexit, a survey showed on Monday, adding to signs of anxiety around the economy as Britain’s divorce with the European Union draws near.
The proportion of CFOs who said Brexit was likely to hurt the business environment was up from 68 percent in the previous Deloitte CFO survey published in April.

With nine months to go until Britain leaves the EU, Deloitte said more large British companies than at any time since late 2012 had adopted a defensive financial strategy.

The accountancy firm’s report chimed with a Lloyds Bank survey last week that showed optimism across British businesses about the outlook has faded to its lowest level this year.
Last month, multinational companies Airbus (AIR.PA) and Siemens (SIEGn.DE) warned their investments in Britain could be at risk if Britain leaves the EU without a deal. They directly employ about 30,000 people in Britain.

“Uncertainty about the timing and the nature of the Brexit settlement has added to CFOs’ worries about the final destination of the Brexit process,” Deloitte Chief Economist Ian Stewart said."

The Goodness is flowing.........down the drain
