Brexit, for once some facts.

That will be Jeremy and John then. They'll try to invest our way out of difficulties with borrowed money to expand the economy. Within Brexit that will fail and send us towards bankruptcy. So like last time, the IMF will come in to take over the management of the economy, putting us all into a financial straight jacket for years.

Eventually we'll lurch punch drunk towards the next general election when with Labour tired and lacklustre, the Tories will announce a new manifesto. Key to that will be radical policies for recovery, such as bringing back fox hunting and doubling the number of grammar schools.

As Frazer would have it, "We're all doomed, doomed I tell you".
.
I see Zlatan disliked your post, he's right in disliking what is going to happen, I do too!

the centre of gravity inside the EU is somewhere in Spain. The EU will grow safely but not very fast, its main objectives are equalisation and protection for the consumers and the environment.
I started my business as a manufacturer, I could see the writing on the wall when I had to stop getting my double layer plated through hole PCBs in the UK. That was in 1983. I bought my PCBs from Taiwan. Resistance was absolutely futile.
The idea of a "main objective" is interesting, care to ponder what that would be here in the UK?

The notion that this government is capable of having a "strategic main objective" is derisory!

we have a structural budget deficit of around 3% for a long time, since the Blair years, which lead to 10 years of austerity.
The effect of the brexit referendum was to deter and reduce immigration a bit, moving a few hundred thousand of Britons back to work, reducing the structural deficit.
So one of the main objectives has to be the elimination of structural budget deficit. The second is full employment for about 1.5 million Britons.

The market for McDonalds workers, bin cleaners, Baristas and zero hours workers has skewed the real employment figures for years., and is about as big as it will get.
There are no new jobs giving a long term prospect are there? and soon there will be less as companies move to the mainland.
All that is keeping the country going is a process of spend and to hell with the consequences.

that's why I'd like a LibLab coalition after we leave the EU.
Borrow to invest but prudently.
We need unhindered state intervention and immigration control to create large scale training and employment opportunities for the 1.5 million of less well trained and educated job seekers.

McDonald' workers , bin collectors etc are as vital and valuable a contribution to the national economy as taxi drivers, cabbage collectors, childminders , pub staff, . These are real employees. What is skewing the figures is the zero hours contract .

In episode three, you compare Brexit to a teabag. Can you explain?
The referendum was like making a cup of peppermint tea. You had to decide whether to leave the teabag in or take it out. If you leave it in, the cup of tea as a whole is stronger. Even though it appears that the teabag itself is getting weaker, it’s still part of a strong cup of tea. But if you take the teabag out, the cup of tea as a whole is weaker – and the teabag itself goes directly in the bin. That’s essentially it. You’d be amazed at how angry Brexiteers get about it. If you voted Leave, try not to lose your mind in the comments section or on social media about what’s quite a whimsical metaphor.

The problems with making Brexit work are many and complex.
Just for a start
  1. We have no manufacturing base worthy of the name that is UK owned
  2. The future of the Foreign companies is in doubt
  3. No one in this country has the capability of setting up manufacturing facilities, supply chains and all the rest from a standing start capable of being world class
  4. No one in this country is prepared to finance such a venture anyway, easier money elsewhere.
  5. Our only hope is that Foreign companies with the expertise and money step in to save the day
Which means that essentially "Taking back control" and "Sovereignty" simply means selling both to several new owners under worse conditions than the workforce enjoy now.
The country will be even more under foreign control than it is now
And that control will NOT BE BENIGN.

Brexit is the craziest thing any nation has ever done short of losing a war, we have gone one better and lost the Peace.

if the UK was a teabag and the EU the pot, then there would be 28 teabags from all members and the water is not or just poured in. If as you said, the bag is used, then that's what the EU has done to us.
I would say that the bags come from different stores, Asda, Morrison, M&S etc. the UK would be M&S and still very capable of making a good cup after leaving the pot.

we'll know next week what the conservatives have (or have not) done for brexit/us.
I don't think brexit is crazy, it's expensive but not crazy.

And there isn't any indication that it will ever prove beneficial to other that the villains who championed it.
Whatever the conservatives do will be hailed as a "Brexit Bonus!" by the usual culprits

No doubt it will be for them.
Just juggle the money market over insecurity and then make a few bets that pay well as usual.

More like an old British Rail used tea bag someone found down the back of a radiator that is bleached white hard as concrete and virtually waterproof.

.. the problem might be that some of the teabags are peppermint, some earl grey some lemon and some real breakfast tea... Obviously unpalatable to those who go for a weak British brand which makes a grey colour tea, as opposed to the red brown colour we in Ireland prefer....

Now I have to face the EU's anti dumping duty on e-bikes. Should I look further or continue with my current suppliers?
If you are so "into Brexit" surely you must be champing at the bit to make them in their entirety yourself?
It's the "Patriotic" thing to do and cuts out all the "Johnny foreigners"

Unless business people are prepared to do just that we will simply be sold to the first foreigners prepared to put down the money to start up industry

And as to better conditions the workers imagine Brexit will bring them...
Brexit will have been a total and absolute disaster

"UK PLC" (under new ownership and foreign management)
So much for "Sovereignty" and taking back control.

It will be very much the same as the long ago days of the Roman Empire on a Galley when the overseer shouts

"It is the Emperors Birthday"
And the Galley Slaves Cheer.
The overseer then continues

"And he wants to go Water Skiing!"
Silence....then uproar, swiftly followed by a Whip round!

By far the best tea bag in the pot would be, Bewley's Irish breakfast. I'm just hoping brexit doesn't increase the price of them much. :)

Each to their own, and I have huge respect for Bewley's, but for me and mine it has to be Barry's Gold label, followed closely by Lyons Gold label. Irish teas come mainly from East Africa, rather than India or China. It gives us a strong red tea, which in addition to being drunk black, takes milk easily, without turning grey.

I like the African red teas too, but when I served it to a couple of men who were digging a trench for me, they wondered what sort it was and definitely didn't want a second helping!

You'll gather they weren't Irish.

You mean there are trenches dug by men that aren't Irish in England? Polish then!
