Or maybe you are doing exactly what the real perpetrators want you to do? Assume the obvious.

Given the dominance of the uncertainties I prefer to not accuse anyone, but instead defend anyone accused on the basis of unsupported accusations. Defending on that basis is not saying they are innocent, it just acknowledges the inadequacy of the evidence and the scale of other possibilities.
.
I do see your point Flecc but exactly who are these unknown perpatrators ; what do they stand to benefit and how clever and capable would they have to be to pull wool over us, all of EU, Russia and,America. They know who has done it Flecc.

That's the point, they don't have to be clever and capable since they know how predisposed the West is to accuse Russia of everything and anything, especially since Crimea.

As current events show only too clearly, any hint is enough to trigger the accusations.

As for who could be the perpetrators, the list of those who despise Russia and Putin and would want to discredit them is very long, and many of them have the capabilities, knowledge and opportunities.

They,d have to be extremely clever to get hold of the poison, deliver it ( probably in Russia or probably through security in UK) ,place poison in right place and then get clean away with nobody knowing anything about it.
If Russia knew who did it ( assuming its not them) they,d be providing info to clear their name.. That means this not clever group of yours has evaded every security service in the world.??? That's a tall order at best Flecc.

Who stands to benefit ?? Perhaps Putin ? Perhaps May. ( she has gained support) EU ? There is a feeling we,d be stronger staying in ? Remainers? Has argument for remaining strengthened ?
Cross out the impossible...who are you left with ?
ISIS couldn't do this...and they would have claimed responsibility by now,?

Who is left ? Americans ?

Who has motive ? Who has capability ? Who benefits ? Who could carry out so covertly? Perhaps all circumstantial but that's all we,ll ever get.

And doesn't work both ways? If one has apologists prepared to argue that every deception has an innocent meaning, does that not give licence?. The advantage of the double bluff.

Lets throw another clue into the mix...

“Traitors will kick the bucket, believe me. Those other folks betrayed their friends, their brother in arms,” Mr Putin said.

“Whatever they got in exchange for it, those 30 pieces of silver they were given, they will choke on them.”

C`mon Flecc lets see you brush this one aside with your flowery command of the english vocabulary? !

That's the impossibility and why the certainties implied by the current official accusations are so wrong. They make the accusers look foolish in many eyes. It's left the Russians secretly amused, not a good outcome if they are the guilty ones.

This could have been handled far more subtly.

Or do you mean you can`t explain that away?
No, I don't know what I'm suppose to explain away, your post makes no sense. Who was being spoken of and in what context? Perhaps you'd care to explain that?

Edit: Crossed witn Zlatan's explanation.

The DUP, political wing of the protestant extremist groups in NI, took not 30 pieces of silver but £1billion from the British taxpayers' purse to provide succour to the tory scum in order to keep that despicable party in power.

Be careful what you wish for!

It was a series of comments ( some televised) made by Putin talking about double agents, agitators and politic opponents. He came over quite a thug.
I can post the video if that`s of any help??
Thanks for the explanation Zlatan.

I don't need to explain that away Tommie, as I've explained to Zlatan, Putin does what he feels necessary and has been very successful in uniting Russia and getting it in order. I certainly don't approve of the methods but understand the necessity.

But that is unconnected with the obviousness implicit in this act of poisoning, other than the fact that Putin has by that threatening statement unwisely laid himself open to being set up by any enemy.

As for the threat in his statement, hasn't Theresa May just threatened the same, that this and any similar acts will not go unpunished? The UK and USA have previously threatened in exactly the same way following 9/11, even to the extent of the totally unnecessary Iraq war at the cost of hundreds of thousands of innocent lives. That's infinitely worse than anything Putin has ever done.
