An example of "Taking Back Control" from the independent.
"
Theresa May urged to back British industry as BAE cuts 2,000 jobs
Unions highlighted that a quarter of government defence contracts have gone to US firms"

And this from the Government that imagines the British Public will allow itself to be raped financially with Brexit.

And Brexiters still can't see the writing on the wall?

What support to do think the government should provide?
perhaps our government should be the employer of last resort.
I wonder if that has ever been done.

To be fair, she does not want all the channels.
She wants a new bundle for one and is willing to pay for it.
Now, you may wish to be fair but how is there any fairness in the type of attitude depicted? You are quite wrong in saying she is willing to pay - tories want everything for nothing.

This despicable creature, for example, was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and has ploughed his own furrow in life, perhaps not too onerous a task when you have extremely wealthy parents and your friends are rolling in money.

Now, I have nothing against those who, by sheer hard work, serendipity, or a spark or genius, manage to make a fortune for themselves.

I do, however, take issue with those who don't play fair and equally with those who ignore or excuse the morally reprehensible conduct of those who have made themselves wealthy, then deliberately avoid paying their fair share of tax.

Tax is an obligation which the oligarchy ensures is collected at source from the poorest income earners in the land, while allowing the elite, the wealthy, the landed to avoid it by a variety of mechanisms unavailable to those with little money.

'To be fair'.......just saying!

I have no argument with this at all other than to apportion blame to just the one party. I think that it's fairly clear that all governments have attempted to close the tax evasion loopholes.

We should be truly self sufficient, in the way that North Korea is perhaps?
Is that what you want? You know as well as I do that strategic industries have to be protected, and that's the weakness of Tory government, where they have no strategic sense whatsoever, just chase a quick profit.

Come off it! The reason the Tory nutters want brexit is because the EU is coming down on their nice little earner tax scams.

I have always hold little sympathy for those who are rich enough to become 'non dom' in this country.

If we are to believe all the doom and gloom on here, perhaps we'll be seeing that sometime soon?
It's a sport for some to find some soft targets for their morning practice.
How about Philip Hammond 'No money for no deal brexit'?
Maybe he thinks that the money set aside to pay the divorce bill is more than enough to cover our backside just in case we end up with no deal.

Of course not! There is an enormous amount of money spent on defence, by government, in this country, especially in aerospace. We also buy a lot of equipment including Eurofighters. However, we also need to export if we are to balance the books. For some reason this seems to escape many of the OP on here who want to play God and only sell to countries that think the same way they do - that means none at all in most cases.

Anyway you never did answer the question. What support do you suggest?

Buy what? Some more Eurofighters, I think we have already done that, and then sell them at less than cost to some of our friends? Surely, as some might say, it would be better to spend the money on the NHS.
