That the public don't recognise a nutcase when they see one - or even hear one come to that? 'Tell me lies' Fleetwood Mac make the case.
Clearly they don't, or they certainly wouldnt have been taken in by Boris, Gove and co, or for that matter Cameron who was exposed lying on tv but still got elected afterwards at the GE,

One could say that trouble was on the horizon whatever the result.
That is something we can agree on, brexit was a protest against bad government diverted at the wrong target, the EU instead of the real culprit, the UK government.
When they make a hash of brexit and the public suffer, then there will be real trouble, and you can't fix that with a fiddled referendum.

Yes, we can agree on that. However, I do think that much of that is down to us being in the EU and the simple fact that in many ways the need for ALL those politicians and parties is unnecessary, in the EU. They have lost their purpose and with that comes all those other human frailties. I know you like the vision of an USE but I and many others do not.

The simple truth of that the USE is inevitable like it or not, and now we will have lost the chance to influence its development through fear

Fear would not have been the reason at all, why do you say that?
Fear of loss of identity is the obvious reason, isn't it,?
Sorry for these very brief responses, I'm unable to connect to the forum with the laptop for some reason on this caravan site and having to use the phone.

Loss of identity has been responsible for more troubles in this world than probably anything else. You only have to look at the situation in Spain to understand that, and Ireland, of course. You or indeed anyone else ignore that at your (their) peril. People do need to group together for self interest and protection from other predatory peoples but, there is a limit to this and removing ones identity is not a solution.

Sorry to hear that you are one of the Trailer Trash community, only temporary I hope - can't blame it on BREXIT?

The trick is to have pride in where one comes from, be able to honestly recognise it's faults while respecting that others, who are less fortunate , by coming from elsewhere are are worthy , and may feel equally proud of their god forsaken patch....

Theresa May was asked what she would vote if there was today a second EU referendum, she refused to answer.
Surely the PM who is committed to taking us out of the EU,she recently said she was going to prove the remain doomsayers wrong, should have immediately answered Leave. Without a positive Leave answer she upset the Tory Eurosceptics and suggested that at best she is lukewarm about Brexit.
So the lady in charge is not sure.
