£37 at BikeInn, but I went for the blingier Road S versions at £51. Rotors separate though. The CleanSweep 160mm was on offer for £10 when I ordered...

Cheers @saneagle, but although those hydraulic shifter options are cheaper than my costing, they are still 12-speed/centre lock systems, and make the 9-speed, 6-bolt hubs and 36 spoke wheels I have incompatible. As for the cable pull hydraulics, that is a personal no-go. I wouldn't trust...

OK. That is great for an MTB conversion, but I'm not sure you actually read my post. Mine is is a drop handlebar road bike from 2007, that originally came fitted with BB7 Road discs, that worked fine for many years, in an era before hydraulic road shifters were a thing, and is a 9-speed system...

I have just installed a Bafang BBS01b 250w motor and 20Ah battery to my 2007 Kona road tourer, and it now weighs 22kg (~48lbs). The extra weight and the poor condition of the old original mechanical Avid BB7 Road brakes, made me decide to buy new BB7 Road S callipers and uprate the front rotor...

Electric conversion kit or peddle assist

As far as I can remember the BBS01B is current limited to 18A. I can't change that in settings. The BBS02B can. But that's fine. I'm happy with the power I get with the Kona Sutra, and that's a heavy bike to begin with. It comes in at 22Kg with the battery on. The Cove Handjob is far lighter...

Err.... I thought the UK limit was 250W.

Electric conversion kit or peddle assist

Hi @Giant Bike. I was in a similar position to you when I first started pondering about e-bikes. But I already had a cellar full of normal bikes too. Looking at the available off-the-shelf options, I realised that to get an e-bike in similar spec to the ones I had already bought or built myself...

Advice to a newcomer on what bike to buy

Already got an Ibby, and anyway, the missus would kill me. All my flash cash went on fixing up the Kona Sutra. ;)

Advice to a newcomer on what bike to buy

It's called Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS). I GAS for all sorts of things guitar, golf and bike related.

Specify best conversion outcome for same cost as Argos recent bargains

Respect @matthewslack for the Hilleberg tent (Enan?). Nearly finished a road e-touring build, and an old Akto is going in the panniers. But, man are they expensive!

    mid-drive chain line issues

A 26" Specialized Rockhopper from 10yrs-ish ago would be a good donor bike. My 1st MTB was a Rockhopper and I remember it had narrow spaced chain stays. So much so that the tyre choice topped out at 2.0". 100mm travel fork would be the limit though I think.

    mid-drive chain line issues

Bafang mid-drives have an after-sales market of others making 'dished' off-set chainrings to address chain line issues. Lekkie 'Bling Rings' are one of the most well known examples. Is there a similar thing for Tongsheng?

    BBS01b 250W 48v Amps?

OK. Cheers for the heads up to the other thread @guerney. I'm fine with the Amps being locked. The throttle is locked too? Some said that theirs were locked at 4 mph. Mine seems to be locked to motor cadence. I did change the settings on the 500c to 4 mph. In 1st gear (R34t x F44t) it is about...

    BBS01b 250W 48v Amps?

Hello. Just finished motorising my road touring bike. I am looking to re-flash my controller and have been looking around for the amps limit for a BBS01B 250W 48v. This motor seems to get almost zero hits on Google. Is it an unusual configuration? I am looking to use the bike for commuting in...

Wheels Manufacturing Bafang Outer M33 E-bike Lockring Tool

The Onenut may still not fit as it is only a slightly smaller profile than the Bafang inner+outer. I originally thought the grub screws went all the way through to bite against the hanger plate. But the screw only goes half way in, as far as the back half of the Onenut, so acts as a...

Wheels Manufacturing Bafang Outer M33 E-bike Lockring Tool

Cheers @Raboa, but that one is Sold Out. I have phoned to ask when they will re-stock (unsure) and check online daily. There are European stockists, but they cost about £70 when shipping is added. Until Brighton Bike re-stock, I have ordered a second mounting kit, to run 2 inner lockrings.

Wheels Manufacturing Bafang Outer M33 E-bike Lockring Tool

I'm posting a review of the Wheels Manufacturing Bafang Outer M33 E-bike Lockring Tool here because I can't find an official place to add a review. Maybe Google will pick this thread up for others to see. Just bought one of these from Bikeparts.UK to install a Lekkie Onenut. The genuine Lekkie...
