I have just installed a Bafang BBS01b 250w motor and 20Ah battery to my 2007 Kona road tourer, and it now weighs 22kg (~48lbs). The extra weight and the poor condition of the old original mechanical Avid BB7 Road brakes, made me decide to buy new BB7 Road S callipers and uprate the front rotor...

As far as I can remember the BBS01B is current limited to 18A. I can't change that in settings. The BBS02B can. But that's fine. I'm happy with the power I get with the Kona Sutra, and that's a heavy bike to begin with. It comes in at 22Kg with the battery on. The Cove Handjob is far lighter...

Err.... I thought the UK limit was 250W.

A 26" Specialized Rockhopper from 10yrs-ish ago would be a good donor bike. My 1st MTB was a Rockhopper and I remember it had narrow spaced chain stays. So much so that the tyre choice topped out at 2.0". 100mm travel fork would be the limit though I think.

Bafang mid-drives have an after-sales market of others making 'dished' off-set chainrings to address chain line issues. Lekkie 'Bling Rings' are one of the most well known examples. Is there a similar thing for Tongsheng?

Cheers @Raboa, but that one is Sold Out. I have phoned to ask when they will re-stock (unsure) and check online daily. There are European stockists, but they cost about £70 when shipping is added. Until Brighton Bike re-stock, I have ordered a second mounting kit, to run 2 inner lockrings.
