    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

At the risk of going round in circles here, the tone of your posts imply that you are very happy with the legal 15mph cut off limit, which I respect. The tone of your posts also imply that you don't think that anyone should aspire to a greater limit, which I don't respect. We are all on here...

    EX-1 Cassette on Ebay....opinions please??

There was no damage to the mech but the hanger was out of alignment. Trying to bend this back caused it to snap, the hanger not the mech. What I thought was wear on the cassette the bike shop said it was just the many different angles on individual teeth, take a look at yours. But I still...

Stop digging mate, they don't want to understand your point of view. I think it's a game.

    EX-1 Cassette on Ebay....opinions please??

I had the EX1 on a new Trek but really didn't like the 8 speed with large jumps. After about 400 miles I noticed the hanger was slightly out of line and instead of leaving well alone I tried to bend it back but it snapped. I used this as an opportunity to change the lot for Shimano XT. You can...

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

Yes I would be in agreement with any legal limit, or no limit at all but I would still ride along at my preferred pace of 18 - 20mph. Not everywhere I hasten to add, Justin places where the motor cut off annoys me now.

Because 25mph would be more than I need or want. I'm only expressing my wishes and desires here, appertaining to my ebike.

    EX1 and a 10 speed cassette...surprising...

Jumping the two lower sprockets means that the indexing is moving slightly too much at each click culminating in the big jump lower down. When I have had this problem, on all derailleur types it has usually been associated with a bent hanger.

    New Crossfire

I had Marathon Plus tyres before changing to the MTB version, mistakenly it seems thinking that they were more puncture proof. I've had loads of punctures with both types with the added pain of trying to remove said tyres, at one point resorting to a screwdriver to break the seal with the rim...

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

At the moment everyone on an analog bike, idiot or sensible, is allowed to use their discretion as to a suitable speed for the conditions. I would like this to apply to me on my electric bike and am willing to still be restricted but would like it to be at 20mph.

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

Youngoldbloke, I'm afraid that you are wasting your breath. Like you I would like the legal assisted speed limit to be increased to around 20mph while still allowing me to cycle on tow paths and bridleways. I'm not disputing that at the moment it is legally 15.5mph and am unhappily complying...

    New Crossfire

I have the Marathon Plus MTB tyres that I would have thought should be even stronger but I've still had lots of punctures, usually thorns. Also, the slime tubes are hit and miss.

    New Crossfire

I had that problem for the first time last week. The bike was upside down for four days whilst waiting for a new Bosch cog to arrive. when tipped back up the rear brake lever pulled back to the bars. It took about 8 pumps to sort. Wouldn't have thought that 10 minutes to change a tyre though...

Why has the Nexus 8 speed hub gear not caught on?

I'm struggling a bit with the above paragraph as I would have thought that anything putting back tension on the chain will be a force working against the gear trying to drive it forwards. I also don't thing that there is anything wrong with hub gears but for a country as hilly as the UK a larger...

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

I suppose that nobody knows or cares unless you are involved in an accident (even at 5mph) after which an inspection of your bike will reveal that it is chipped. That is a risk that a lot of us choose to take, or not.

    The Cycle Show

It was over in the top corner near the stage area. They said that the motor and battery were Chinese but isn't everything.

    Help! SRAM EX1 chain compatibility

I had the 8 speed EX1 running to a Bosch front sprocket then changed to Shimano XT 11 speed with same front sprocket. My next bike came with 11 speed XT and the same front sprocket. I now have 5 old front sprockets all the same size of 2mm thick. Never had a chain size option when purchasing.

    The Cycle Show

I visited the cycle show but had two disappointments. First was the £16 mugging in the car park and secondly that there were no big bike manufacturers showing next year's models. One big surprise was an Indian company, can't remember the name who were showing a rear hub motor mountain bike with...

    Cube speed sensor

The only way to get a true circumference is to put a mark on the tyre and floor and wheel the bike across the ground to measure the linear circumference. You must be sat on the bike to do this as the tyre compresses. Or, work out the percentage error between the devices and tell the bike shop to...

    Best False CrossBar for e-Bike?

I got a tow ball and rack for my Prius which I found much better than a hanging rack, which I presume the Saris is.

    Spare spokes

Best to measure one from the hub hole to the rim or take the wheel in to your LBS. there are several sizes that may fit and they are about 50p each.
