ebike rear rack for panniers or back pack for commute

I have a Topeak rear rack which is non ebike specific. I have discs but opted for the non disc version which fits just fine. Can't see any reason for the disc version, it just sticks out a bit more.

    Help! Numb Hands

I got some cheap riser bars and cut them down to 600mm (roughly the width of my shoulders) then fitted Ergon GP2's with the bar ends. I am constantly changing to and from the bar ends and this relieves any pressure on the wrists, or specifically between the thumb and forefinger. The narrow bars...

    Orbea Gain lost spokes

I always carry a couple of spare spokes and have put a new one in on a ride, tightening to about the same as the others. Record time is about two minutes screwing into the existing ferrule. Biggest problem is if it's on the cassette side of the rear wheel. If any bike shop couldn't put a spoke...

Is the Activeline Plus motor waterproof?

I'm not implying anything by this but I've been hitting my CX motor with a pressure washer for 36 months and to date have not had any problems. If it explodes tomorrow it will have been cheap cycling for the miles that I have done.

ebay Bosch 500 Power Pack Battery fault diagnosis and rebuild Service.

They only say "diagnose issues" not fix them. It's likely that a new battery from them will fix the problem. :D

    Modifications

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I had one of these which I could hear working as the bike thief rode off after cutting a cable lock. Presumably he gave it a good kicking when he got out of sight. Which is what I would have given him if I had been able to run faster. Perhaps I should lay...

    Bike Transport

I don't know the state of your health but I certainly wouldn't consider anything where the bikes have to go in horizontal. I did this for a while with two ebikes but the reaching in used to kill my back. The second bike was even worse as you have to lift it over the first one whilst reaching as...

Bosch CX - is it possible to reduce pedeling resistance with aftermarket mods

I only mentioned 1 mph to emphasize that speed is not important to me, it was a little bit tongue in cheek. Like you I am probably doing 5mph on the steep hills unless there are large rocks. Next time out I will see if 1mph is possible.

    electric scooter/skateboard laws

As there has been loads of discussion on here regarding the speed laws for pedelecs I was wondering if anyone new anything regarding scooters /skateboards. I recently saw a kids electric scooter with a throttle reviewed on TV and a legal speed limit of 25kph was mentioned. I wonder if the...

Bosch CX - is it possible to reduce pedeling resistance with aftermarket mods

I thought that Nev's comparison was about speed and nothing to do with battery longevity. He was just pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of both bikes. It's fairly obvious why the "racing bike" was superior over certain terrain. Personally I'm not bothered about speed, especially on a...

Slime With Tubeless Tyres - Any Good ?

I have the Swalbe Marathon Plus MTB tyres but it doesn't mention anything about being tubeless or tubeless ready on them.

    Bosch CX eMTB mode

When riding uphill in tour mode and getting tired legs I want a bit more assistance, I don't want to have to pedal harder to get it which is what I needed to do with EMTB. Flicking several times between the two modes on a 1:4 hill made no difference unless I put quite a bit more pressure...

When riding on the footpath should I.....

Speaking of Beeching reminded me of the biggest waste of recourses in my area is the old railway lines that serviced the coal fields and are now lying disused. From Nottingham up to Leeds there are lines going in all directions linking hundreds of villages and towns. Some councils are more...

    Lock to cover LCD display

I also thought that the under seat alarm was a good idea but when I had my bike stolen the thief rode off with the alarm blaring and it made no difference whatsoever. I assume that when he was out of sight he just smashed it with the bolt cutters that he used to cut my cable.

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

I think the OP is winding us up. I don't suppose he's ever taken a pencil from school or lit a garden fire before dusk. The worst offence I ever committed was to forget a wedding anniversary. Now that is dangerous.

Just collected my Cube, metal filings everywhere....what should I do?

That's discussing, I'd take it back and tell them to sort it. Also, I don't know what Evans have been selling these at but my partner bought this bike new last year from James Cycles for £1500.

    firmare update

That is interesting as the four original modes had definite levels of assistance. Going from Tour to EMTB and keeping the same amount of torque on the pedals should see no increase as the three stages of EMTB assistance depend on pedal pressure. I wanted more assistance without pedalling harder...

    firmare update

I had mine updated a couple of weeks ago. The main reason was to get rid of the EMTB mode and put SPORT back on. This was just a case of ticking a box, sport or emtb. I was told that part of the update involved some sort of algorithm for detecting if the motor had been chipped with a dongle by...

    Surprised?

I think the op is referring to the theft possibility without having to remove the battery.

Tyre choice for a 650b hard tail

My Marathon Plus MTB tyres were advertised as "flatless" whatever that means but mine have been flat loads of times due to thorns and they are a real PITA to get off. Sometimes have to break the rim seal with a rounded off screwdriver that I now carry around. The rims don't like this.
