True a wheel. Bike shop or DIY?

Update After taking a look I decided to take to local bike shop. Guy said it was made wrong and took a while to centre it and get it correct. Was way out from new. I'm well happy with it. Tbh its well worth the money getting it done especially being a hub motor wheel. I then swapped tyres from...

True a wheel. Bike shop or DIY?

My front wheel is way out having bought a cheap stand to try to straighten myself. Bottled out tbh as and will take the wheel to my local bike shop tomorrow. Seems mixed advice online regarding DIY. What do most people do? Guess if it's a small adjustment then worth trying..

    Batteries Charging Routine

I listened to a lithium Ion talk on a podcast. Cut to the end. Do what you want regarding charging. No two batteries are the same and why some last longer than others is a mystery. The charger and circuits will protect battery. I can back this up. I bought 2 phones 6 years ago. One got that it...

    V-Brakes grabbing question

@FastFreddy2 I've been looking for another bike but they fetch too much money or not what I want. Couple of Carrera bikes local to me for £185 and £195 but both medium frames but I want a large. Another old hardtail about 15 miles from me for £125 that is a large, but it's not looking good to...

    V-Brakes grabbing question

Thanks They look almost identical to the original zoom suspension forks I took off. The problem is the motor rubs against the forks. I need the fixing to be inline with the inside of forks to take hub motor without rubbing

    Wheel size 26 Inch o.l.d

Need a new rear wheel I decided after the new axel I bought never fitted correctly on my 26inch wheel MTB. 6 speed freewheel with 135 o l d (135mm distance across axel) Most adverts don't mention o.l.d size so I guess you assume it's 135mm? Is it worth getting a double rim wheel? Any...

Forks are for a 26 Inch wheel. 1 Inch steerer threaded that's 175mm long, although they can be cut. I could not find one online that size that would take a disc

    V-Brakes grabbing question

Think I need a wheel truing stand then. I know the back axel is not right having swapped it for a new one that didn't fit properly, so I used one old cone and some washers to get it to fit. Think I need a new back wheel and true that and the test the front wheel Any recommendations for stand to...

    V-Brakes grabbing question

New inner cable fitted and new brake leavers with motor cutout switches built in. The bike was left in a garden for 3 years so I've replaced many rusty parts. The adjustment screws on the actual brakes don't seem to do much and I feel even with new grease applied they don't move for adjustment...

    V-Brakes grabbing question

My 10+ year old V-brakes are grabbing on both the front and back wheels giving uneven braking? Worth replacing levers and blocks or other problem? Front wheel is a new 250w hub . Current breaks are unbranded and low quality I guess, based on everything else ok on bike. For £15 I could replace...

    E-Bikes: The phenomenon, The Problem.

I've found 16mph don't seem that fast until you get a pedestrian coming round a blind corner or another bike coming towards you. Nobody seems to travel on one side or the other! Some switch sides of path for no reason! Definitely something I think about now I'm riding everyday day. Dogs...
