So how does my 400wh battery last at least 2 hrs.. Quickest I,ve ever run it down is 1hr 40...that was constant uphill for 9 miles or so...( think about 3000ft height gain)

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

Mines Yamaha but same applies. I,ve often wondered the energy requirement ( in rral terms) of a 100 kg rider going up a 1 in 4 even slope at say 6mph...I suspect actually quite low ? I,ve noticed on mine I,m going up hills at 11mph where none electric I was going up at 4 or 5...( for similar...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Perhaps not, but I was never going to vote Lib Dem, like some were. You can call Blair admin whatever you want but it was voted in as Labour and unfortunately , as anyone who knows anything about Labour, for some odd reason Blair still has a massive following within the party. If not supporting...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The project was well established by time Tories took over rule. You asked the question " What is it for?" To get an answer you need to ask the Admirals who requested it and the administration that sanctioned it. Quite obvious really.( I think West was secuirity minister at time but had been...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Perhaps you should ask Gordon Brown and Lord West of Spithead that question. (Both staunch labour,of a sort) Brown gave go ahead on building the ships ( there is a second somewhere) It was said at time Brown gave go ahead to create jobs in Scotland. Tories inherited this shambles.. Brown who...

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

Exactly, but it doesn't. Your 750 w must be some theoretical or bench tested figure. In use there must be something limiting it. ( Perhaps the rider?)

That makes my Haibike even cheaper then, its 400wh battery must be at least 800wh..great news.

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

Thought throttle was illegal ? And 800w is not nominal 250w ? I was probably being a bit niave but assumed any advice on here should be for legal kit ??? It sounds a great piece of kit and very cheap but crank drive is always going to have gearing benefits ??? Reckon Haibike consumes at max...

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

The only thing to do is borrow one and give it a try. I have a Haibike hard seven.weigh 105 kg ( me not the bike) and I have been staggered at bikes climbing ability..(I suppose I,m fit for a 63 yr old big bloke but not that fit) I tried a few hub drives 10 years or so ago and IMO they didn't...

    Grenfell Tower

Agreed, but should we still be buying fridges utilising isobutane, fridges we inevitably neglect that sit there year after year probably corroding and eventually leaking inflamable gas around switch gear ??? Even before this event explosions and fires resulting from this are well documented...

Thanks. Any fire needs a source of ignition , fuel and oxygen. The isobutane provides initial fuel for fire to start with some as yet unknown ignition point.( spark) Only after fire has started will the foam be problematic. A spark would not ignite the foam. The amount of gas is fairly...

    Haibike quality issue

That shouldn't cause problems... An issue rarely mentioned that is common on off road motorbikes and boat trailers is the hub,s sudden immersion in water. Bearing and housing are always warm and if binding hot. Hub cools , air inside contracts and sucks in water ( even on so called sealed...

    Grenfell Tower

The problem may involve the leakage of the flammable isobutane refrigerant gas into the interior of the fridge which is then ignited by an arc, possibly from the thermostat. A similar effect could be caused by the householder storing flammable substances or aerosols with hydrocarbon propellants...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Well we,ve all lost faith in parliament which should create vacuum for the right party/ person to step up..unfortunately it isn't.. And no I,m not judging left wing zealots or even criticising their views, I,m criticising the language of hate from both sides. Tom has every right to attend...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Yes, I agree. That's a fair comment. My point throughout all this is the reasonable, intelligent adults amongst us should all strive to denounce aggression and acts of sheer stupidity which are without doubt becoming more prevalent. IMHO folk adopting know it all tones, insulting...

Where did Ii say I agree with Daily Mail. Never have , I don't give it any credit for anything. Its you lot gloryfying both its pathetic articles and affects. It has achieved nothing, apart from giving idiots something to beat leavers with.( I actually hit agree button on Tom's reference to DM...

Just doing it again...your differentiation of comments is tenuous and pedantic. Ok you said folk had concrete for brains...its still an insult, and not called for, but you cant do any other and will not accept its dangerous, causes division and resentment. You,ve done it throughout this thread...
