So....there is a heated debate gong on in Northern Ireland right now, Stephen Nolan who is a guy off the telly and the radio recently asked his viewers on their opinions on electric bikes as he was thinking of getting one. This then brought to light the fact that when in 1995 England, Scotland...

Got it! That makes sense, the battery is 36V -15AH = 540 WHs. This is the maximum amount of energy it has. So if I run it set at 15 amps for an hour I will use all 540 units of energy, higher at 17amps it will run out in about 50 minutes and presumable if I run it at 13 amps it will last a...

I remember an earlier post where Tony advised you to test 17a but not go beyond that. I'm guessing that's because the Lishui controller has a max rating of 17a and anything above that will melt it!

Quick question: I have a fairly limited understanding of electricity but volts X amps equals watts right? When I was going through some of the menus a noticed that the Current Set is set to 15 amps. And the battery is a 36V battery......so 36V X 15amps = 540 Watts Does this mean we are...

So what your both saying is, I don't have to worry about riding in the rain? I've been pretty lucky up til now but because I commute everyday there is a good chance that I will have to brave the elements sooner rather later!

Charging question: I felt it a bit late to plug the bike in last night and as a result I waited up til nearly 1am til the light went green. 1. Is it okay to simply leave the charger on? I assume once the light has gone green its no longer charging? Meaning plug it in and go to bed and unplug it...

I have had quite a few commutes to and from work now, I've mentioned it before but on the way home is 2 mile uphill which used to kill me on my road bike. Yesterday I was going up that hill and I passed another cyclist on an old fashioned industrial age human powered bike.......the inner joy I...

Hi Volusia, Do you feel that your front mudguard is securely in? I only fitted the mudguards last night because the weather has turned decidedly Irish. The rear mudguard is fine, but the front feels very loose. I was taking the bike out this morning and it simply fell out, I may have knocked...

Hi Volusia, I just got back from London. I'm glad you managed to solve the problem and get your bike going again. Here are a couple of pics of my battery/controller. They look the same as yours to me!

I'm glad I'm not the only one having difficulties with the little bugger! On a more positive note.....it turns out that my brakes are not supposed to have lock nuts after all. Jim from Woosh called me on Monday afternoon to ask me to look for a grub screw on the back of the handle. (If you sit...

Even without the lock nuts, the screw definitely wasn't loose, it took a fair bit of torque to turn it back half a turn. I'll put the lock nuts on when they arrive as I know vibration can turn even the tightest of screws. Thanks again Tony!

Tony, you were absolutely right to have me check the brake sensitivity. After a quick test ride earlier this evening I was able to determine that the back brake was causing the Error 25. I could clear it every time by holding in the throttle and turning on the bike but as soon as I touched the...

Hi Woosh, I think I've fixed it. Here's what I did. I noticed that on the way home earlier the motor wasn't kicking in with the pedals, I had to hit the throttle to start the motor, it would then stay on with the pedals. So.....I tried holding in the thumb throttle and THEN turning on the...

Hi Woosh, that was my first thought too, I've turned the bike on and off about 20 times now , I've removed the battery and let it sit for twenty minutes too. still getting Err 25 I'm no where near the brakes now when turning it on! I noticed the signal wires seem to be held in through a...
