Is there any good reason not to buy a Greenway E16M106?

I'll have to wait til I get the bike to double check but I just found this harness on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ECON17-WIRING-LOOM-HARNESS-FOR-E-BIKE-ELECTRIC-BICYCLE-CONVERSION-KITS-36V-250W-/361352677127?hash=item54224c4707:g:604AAOSw9N1Vw0vu It would be great if the connections were...

Is there any good reason not to buy a Greenway E16M106?

Where are you geting this info? Just from the pics? I found the Freewheel you suggested: https://www.amazon.com/DNP-Epoch-Freewheel-Nickel-Plated/dp/B007A8RSTQ Seems a simple enough job to change as long as you have the right freewheel remover tool! I wonder is there an option to change the...

Is there any good reason not to buy a Greenway E16M106?

Right! Decision made, I'm getting the Greenway. They emailed me back and said as far as he knows it is possible to add a throttle. It can also be de-restricted to 40 kph (25 mph) Thanks again guys for all your help

    Delimit Carrera Crossfire E

I just want to add my 2 pence on the Cycle to Work scheme. Its worth noting that there is another scheme called Bike 2 Work. http://www.bike2workscheme.co.uk/ Which opens up options for a lot more retailers! The Bike 2 Work Scheme has one major plus as you are not ,limited to £1000, you can...

Is there any good reason not to buy a Greenway E16M106?

This is from Bike 2 Work FAQs Is there a maximum spending? Employees can spend between £1 - £1,000. If Employees wish to purchase items over the £1,000 limit they can add their own money to the order, however, this will not form part of their salary sacrifice and therefore they would only make...

Is there any good reason not to buy a Greenway E16M106?

Philip you are absolutely correct, there is a £1000 limit for the Cycle to Work Scheme However, there are two schemes: http://www.bike2workscheme.co.uk/ and https://www.cycle2work.info/ The Cycle to Work does have a limit of £1000, but the Bike 2 Work doesn't have a limit that I've found...

Is there any good reason not to buy a Greenway E16M106?

I agree Redcup, I emailed yesterday at about 11am, I got a reply at 5.45pm However I did get an email straight back at 10.30am this morning. They say that the bike does not have a throttle as they are no longer legal and this is the 2017 model. However you can de-restrict the bike allowing...

Is there any good reason not to buy a Greenway E16M106?

On further inspection I also noted the absence of a throttle....I emailed Greenway last night to confirm and ask if there is the option to add one... I really like the look of the Oxygen S-Cross MTB, currently a web exclusive on the Halfords site for £1499...I will have to see if the £1000...

Is there any good reason not to buy a Greenway E16M106?

Rob, you're not wrong, I do have Carrera Zelos and I do cycle in as often as I can. Going to work is great fun.....coming home not so much! This is as much a treat as it is another commuter bike. I fancy a new gadget! As for dodgy Chinese electrics, they both have Bafang motor which I...

Is there any good reason not to buy a Greenway E16M106?

Someone here at work reminded me that we are on the Cycle to Work Scheme.....I contacted Greenway and they said they can also accept a bike purchase through this scheme. However....this has now made me seriously consider the Oxygen S-Cross from Halfords....its twice the price but there is a...

Is there any good reason not to buy a Greenway E16M106?

If I'm going to do that, I may as well buy this bike: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PedalEase-Big-Cat-Fat-Bike-MTB-Snow-Beach-front-suspension-disc-brake-21-speed-/112436876966?hash=item1a2dc296a6:g:D~kAAOSwa~BYSz4p And then buy the parts you recommended ??? And a Bafang motor?

    Noob Here!

I'm right in assuming the bike I listed has a geared motor (not direct drive), therefore requiring less power.....please correct me if I'm way off here! Although I imagine that more power (watts) is still better than less....so I should be looking for the biggest ah bottle battery I can find...

I'm also very tempted to just buy this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brand-New-High-Quality-26-x4-Fat-Tyres-Electric-Bike-Limited-Stock-bargain-UK-/201918478441?var=&hash=item2f03477869:m:mUgjIhSgfF4U5BY8wrwfWAA £495 without a battery......I just thought that the 250W motor might be a little...

    Noob Here!

Batteries is where my plan is falling apart at the moment, as a noob I started looking at the voltage and the ah rating. I didn't look at the continuous amp delivery which is much more important Daniel, you think that even for a 1000W hub motor that a 2000Watt battery would be required? That...

    Noob Here!

Thanks for the advice guys, I have only been researching this for a couple of days, I'm reading everything I can to try to absorb as much info as possible! I do fall into the camp of assuming that more watts equals more power.....not necessarily speed, but low down grunt that will tackle hills...
