    Dynamo...

strictly for what its worth - I wouldn't consider a rim type dynamo, in my experience the noise and friction entirely destroy the je ne sais quoi that makes cycling such a transcendent experience - so, limiting myself to hub dynamos, I'd make an odd suggestion: an old sturmey archer four speed...

ive tried a 500w BPM2 with 35A (S12SH controller) and 12S (44V) - it literally flew up any hill i could find without pedalling, i dont imagine it could be anywhere near this (or 1.5kw)

dear all, ive been thinking - is teh 15A the integrated controller put out (around 540W) continuous or peak? if continuous i wonder what the peak would be? the battery is rated at 2C which means it can do something like 26A (or around 900W, apologies if this gets too obvious, im working it out...

the first pic, as a complete aside, is a really fetching retro shade of green - I imagine from the quality it was the original frame colour?

    Dodgy Ebay Listing

i find this a bit of a moral dilemma - clearly none of us can right all(or even many) wrongs, but it grates to stand by as we all seem to do increasingly in this lovely brave new capitalist UK and do only what we absolutely have to while ever so carefully and narcissistically looking after...

call me naive if you like, but i'm happy we dont live in world where each of us meticulously mind our own business and take care of ourselves and let unsuspecting others step into traps when were aware of it.

    Upgrading Aurora

i guess from that that a controller that could modify voltage and amps would be able to provide a setup with a single speed hub gear with lots of grunt low down (say 36V and 22A) and high speed (say 48V) - is this too simplistic, and why hasnt it been done then?

    Kit options for Fat Bike

this guy did it http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=55002&hilit=beast&start=50 BUT, 130mm not 150mm and having been on a bike with a BPM2 (500W) I'd agree with not putting it in a front wheel (it would be way overpowered)

for what its worth I reported it on ebay too, my sympathy - I realise its easy to say, but in your shoes id run the risk of informing the police of the threat, its much more serious than fraud

Building a bike for heavy hill climbing on country roads.

i had beavertails on a (now stolen)MTB because I got fed up with the old mudguards rubbing the tyre, for me they worked great, never a problem with mud, aesthetically they may look a bit aggressive, but practically they're unbeatable

    Kit options for Fat Bike

how about this (if you could mount a double chain ring upfront): http://www.ebikes.ca/product-info/grin-products/stoke.html it may be obvious - but it looks very hackable (one could by the looks of it really manipulate the chain line) and it would suit the aesthetics and grunt of a tractor bike

many thanks, sensor to frame and magnet to cable great idea (and major, major relief as opposed to replacing gear/brake levers), incidentally googled tyre diameter, 23-700c is 668mm and 26 MTB 660mm; decided 27mph sounds might attractive and just hope torque will be OK..
