Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

I was thinking about this thread just now, while - with some pleasure I must confess - gunning my little two and half kw bpm Raleigh twenty back from costa. that's an issue in itself, it has a top speed of around 17 mph (340rpm in 20 wheel) but wonderful acceleration of course. mainly I was...

Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

actually lost-again is acting entirely in the spirit of this thread - which, btw, has nothing to do with dongles (read the OP) - go for it lost again, derail the derailers

Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

one thing that occurred to me is that by keeping up this very deliberate campaign you pretty much guarantee that anyone looking for a faster off-road ebike will know about martin and put him at the top of their list. there's a saying I believe about a show of envy being an insult to oneself...

Can I derestrict a Cyclotricity 250W kit? Recommendations for lightweight hybrid?

i put the oxygen 13Ah kit on a b'twin triban 3 (skinny tyred racer), as a fast commuter it works great (24mph on hilly terrain easy), curiously the rather good rim brakes on the b'twin works better for me than discs now ive accepted it. one thing I REALLY would change is the frame - mine cant...

Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

threads like any other conversation take on a life of their own when others' views are respected, not censored or ridiculed, and when the OP informs it, not when its contrived into a deliberate agenda. I'll leave this here, I'm quite sure this will continue to happen.

Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

i think there is a difference between sticking an oar in and hijacking a thread. perhaps the same way there is a difference between expressing an opinion and patronising others in a controlling way. however, that aside, this thread has generated some light (and not just heat), which must be a...

seeking advice choosing sub £1k very gutsy climber in Dutch style

Or woosh Santa ana, have friend who's I borrowed recently, seems ideal for what you describe, relatively slow but really relaxed meandering, also while I like hub drives(I have one) crank drive would allow you to crawl up hills at very slow speed which hub isn't ideal for

Lithiun-Ion Battery to run a house

this is a very useful thread - does it have to be 5kw? I can well imagine juggling loads so that one wouldn't ever need more than a load of around 3kw, at most.

Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

telling members of the forum how and when they are allowed to react to postings - after changing the subject of a thread to make it about cross examining an OP amounts to bullying, for me.

Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

to me this is where hijacking becomes bullying. its the point where I think moderators of a forum could take an interest in what's happening.

Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

indeed, its doesn't sound about dongles anymore, rather commercial competition and discrediting of rivals. maybe the new thread should have that heading?

    You got a moped!

how to make it more stealth, as a completely left field suggestion, could the big battery be repackaged as a pannier that would look like ordinary baggage? I would put the smallest disc I could find on and ditch the top box. It's not that I'd give a s%%% about what people think, but more that...

    Oxydrive kits

squeaking - it's not really a problem (everything works as normal) - but it comes and goes - exactly the kind of noise one hears when someone say walks with very rubber soled shoes on a polished floor. But nothing touches the wheel/tyre, its not the brakes or anything similar.

    Oxydrive kits

    Oxydrive kit

I just knew that burnt-out controller would one day make someone very happy ;>) Seriously, I was thinking as I ran back to work just now, it would never have occurred to me that squeezing wires with a cable tie could cause problems(logical as it may be if one considers five very thin delicate...

    Hub drive with fluid clutch

I'm echoing what many have said here, but tried the nu-vinci a few months ago and it felt - to me - like treacle, really inefficient, my humming rohloff felt very free running afterwards
