What to go for! I say the Wisper 905

Folks, whilst Steve will probably agree he has perhaps been rather enthusiastic with his posts regarding his new bike ;) we should all welcome our new members and what they have to say even if it sometimes conflicts with our own opinions and experiences. Sometimes it takes a little time to...

    CO2 Tyre Inflators

I did read a while back on the Cycling Plus forums that some people had experienced some problems with the CO2 cans that didn't inflate the tyre properly, so I would advise everyone to carry a backup pump just in case. Has anyone tried out the Cyclair (sp?) pump that uses a pull chord to...

    a bike stolen every 71seconds

Hi Mike, here in Cambridge 2,917 bikes were stolen in 2005 and fell to 2,406 in 2006 (down 17.5%). This was due to a Police crackdown. Cambridge is apparently the third worst spot in the country for bike thefts. Get those bikes locked up folks! cheers Russ.

Bikes Torq Wisper Giant Easy lit

Hi Steve, welcome to the forum. That's quite a collection of bikes there! As Flecc has stated, 50Cycles have taken remedial action to deal with those who have had problems, which to be fair is not everyone. My own Torq has been fine only exhibiting the juddering at new which was caused by...

    How do I choose - Ezee/Powacycle/Wisper?

I don't think it is reasonable to expect any bike to be absolutely spot on at 15.5 mph all of the time. There are too many variables - rider weight, accuracy of the speed measurement, status of the battery, terrain etc.. For the bikes that can be de-restricted, it is worth reiterating the point...

From the ashes of the Djavelo rises the Schwinn Continental !

I think what we can draw from this is we really need to get our hands on one of these beasts! Does anyone know if the Swizzbee will be making an appearance at Presteigne next month ?

    How do I choose - Ezee/Powacycle/Wisper?

It's possible but no one knows at this point! If you are able to make the event then it would be fantastic opportunity to try out a wide range of bikes to see which suits you most (and most certainly all the models you refer to in your main post)

    First eBike Ride

Hi Paul, congrats on getting your bike up and running. Nice photographs - is that a mortar on the back? :D We could do with some how-to's on the main site, so if you feel like writing up your project, it would be very welcome ;) cheers Russ.

When it makes sense to jump red lights

Left turns - I have seen cycle lanes which continue left at an intersection but the traffic light is actually on a middle island between the cycle lane and the main traffic lane. In this instance the planners obviously designed the cycle lane so that you can continue with your left turn without...

From the ashes of the Djavelo rises the Schwinn Continental !

The quote Jed is referring to was left by someone else on the main site but I don't know anything else about the source of the comment. From my discussions with Pacific Cycle they told me that the original designer of the Diavelo sold his design to them. A bit of a cloak and daggers tale this one ;)

    NEW! Clinic sub-forums

Hi all, I've added a new forum section to the site called 'Clinics'. This section of the forum is for specific questions aimed at the retailer/manufacturer/importer. Questions posed in these sections will be responded to directly by the company in question. I see it becoming more of a Q & A...

    Woooh - overexcited...

It's well worth doing a few times while you are at home. That way you can take your time and ensure you have the right tools available plus write down (or video!) the steps you take when removing and reassembling. Then you'll be prepared should the worst happen! Alternatively ETA do a Cycle...

    YouTube Bike Video Competition

According to a news article posted on Bike-EU today, Shimano is sponsoring a competition on YouTube for the best video on the topic of ‘I want to ride my bicycle. From the ashes of the Djavelo rises the Schwinn Continental !

It appears the Schwinn electric bikes have been on sale for few months now but I've yet to see a review of one anywhere. They are even advertising them on Bike Europe - The website for the global bicycle business

    Woooh - overexcited...

Excellent stuff, glad you are enjoying it ! It is interesting seeing other cyclists reactions though. On my way to work I often pass many 'hardcore' cyclists who are amazed to see a commuter bike loaded with panniers catch them up and overtake them. The funniest times are when you see someone...
