Another new member...and a question already!

Your 24 V controller will (should ) have a cut -off voltage at, say, 20 volts or so. Hopefully your 36 V battery will also have a cut off at 31/32 volts. If the battery cut -off is missing then you run the risk of running the battery down too far. But that's unlikely and a minimal risk IMO

Greetings - and a load of questions!

Hi Ben THE place to see new models and get great deals is at the NEC Cycle Show (23rd - 25th Septemeber). Lots of ebikes will be there this year and all the main brands will have show offers. There's a test track that will allow you to directly compare bikes and you'll get to see the latest...

newbie to ebikes and could do with some opinions

All good bikes on your list. Now it's important to test ride (you simply can't choose which is best for you without a trial ride ). Which hilly city are you in?

    £1000-£1300 Budget Which Bike?

Hi Ed It's important to know more about you - your height and fitness level and anything you feel is important to tell. Coming up is the Cycle Show at the NEC, which will reveal many different bikes and give you the chance to try them all for size. Our nearest retailer to you with stock is in...

    Trading up ... to what?

That makes sense. We encourage our customers to have their bikes sent to their local bike shop if there isn't a Juicy Bike Retailer nearbye. Good luck with your test ride.

    Trading up ... to what?

Where are you Libster? Agree with you regarding local bike shops, many of which have had a hard time generally this year. If your local bike shop is also an ebike specialist then that's perfect for you. However a 20 mile trip to a specialist could be well worth the trouble to see a bigger...

Latest issue of Watt Bike is out inside Twist and Go magazine

Ha ha! You have a great future in marketing Tom. Unfortunately Watt Bike haven't seen Roller yet. I'm just off to collect one back from Cycling Weekly who have been looking at electric bikes in recent editions. Hope they like it... (trepidation emoticon...)

Which bike from a choice of 3??

Hi Donna After 8 miles an hour in Low setting you would be doing all the work - maybe you're fitter than you think! I didn't think Plymouth had any of our Poco, which you might like. You can try one though at Exeter Electric Bike Higher.

    Battery problem with Freego

If the battery is within warranty then send it back. If not, might be worth looking for a loose wire from switch. Wouldn't advise delving deeper...

New member. Going to buy one, will it help me lose weight?

18 miles each way is an ambitious commute to start, from scratch. You may want to work up to that, perhaps as a goal to achieve after a few weeks. Maybe starting with the aim of completing it both ways just on one day a week will give you a good start, then increasing from there. Or doing some...

    Ezee Forza problem

He knows his stuff and you should trust his solution. I'm assuming that you have carefully checked along the cable from the controller to the motor for any signs of damage? The wires that carry the signals from the hall sensors are very fine and susceptible to damage from stress to that cable. A...

Hello from Perthshire 0 and a few questions re £1K limit bikes!

If you have to use Halfords then expect to choose only their bikes. It's true they have to supply any make of bike - we've supplied them several Juicy Bikes for Cycle To Work riders. But they charge us 15% for the privilege, which we now think is too high. 10% is the norm. I'm guessing other...

Hi, This is all new to me but now a necessity brought on by age !!!!

Where is your neck of the woods Zeb? We have some of your list at our shops in the Peak District. I can recommend the Wisper Torque, but you need to ride any bike to verify if it's right for you.

Crystal - One of the longest established specialist electric bike retailers in the UK is in Bristol. Alistair the owner is one of the most helpful retailers I know. It would be well worth a trip to Atmosphere and see the many bikes and brands he has in stock.

    Complete Newbie to e-bikes.

Hi Dean The kits use very similar components to the cheaper, built electric bikes and mainly rely on how well they're installed for their reliability. For your journey of only a few miles I don't see any need for a spare battery - even the GTech's tiny battery would cope (though the motor and...
