Events: 15th NEC Cycle Show Birmingham: 23rd-25th September 2016

I missed having a chat with Andrew from Oxygen - always good fun at build time but had a brief chat with John from SYEB. No sign of Volt or GTech.

    Not a clue.

You may be able to revive your sla batteries... Good car repair shops often have a charger designed to oscillate whilst charging which can significantly weaken sulphurous coatings of the anodes. I think they might be called "percussive chargers" but I'm no expert. Your car mechanic may know more...

Events: 15th NEC Cycle Show Birmingham: 23rd-25th September 2016

Quite a number of brands conspicuously missing from this year's show. Freego didn't arrive though I thought they were all booked up and in the early lists of manufacturers attending. A to B also were absent this year. Powerbike and Powacycle used to attend every year for as long as we've been...

New Juicy Sports Torque Bike Prototype - 500 mile updae.

Good to hear your update Chuck. Roller is now in its final production state and all the first shipment is sold out following a brilliant first two days at the NEC Show. It's thanks to you and many other early reviewers that we are grateful to for helping refine and develop the design. Really...

    Greenedge CS2

Ah well. Just a few pounds gets you up and running again. You may be able to unscrew what remains of the old sensor from its bracket and then screw the new one on into place without having to remove the chain wheel. That sensor is probably held in place with just one small screw.

    Greenedge CS2

I think i can see a sensor there, still intact. Using finger and thumb, with the bike switched off, twiddle the black disk back and forth whilst pushing it towards the bike frame. It should move along the shaft with a little effort and rotation.

    Greenedge CS2

Check that your pedal sensor disk is close enough to its sensor. It's easy to move the disk along the shaft to become less than 5mm from the sensor.

Which bike should I buy Freego Wren or Kudos Sprint?

Very similar to the Freego Wren and stocked in Bristol is our Poco. You can try at Atmosphere Electric Bikes in Bristol.

    Battery

Batteries are getting smaller and lighter. Your Freego battery may be a LiFePO4, heavier and bulkier than the more usual Li-Ion or Li-po.

    A word of thanks

Blimey! Um, you're most welcome Gray. It really is a pleasure to show bikes and mix with bike-friendly people. I hope your trip wasn't spoiled by the lack of Poco - I know your wife was hoping to try a slightly smaller bike and it would be good to see her back on two wheels. Poco, the new...

    Looking to join the eRevolution

Welcome Andy Have I read that right - 2 or 3 mile commute? Or are you moving house by bicycle? I'm sure you'll be clocking up more miles once you get your bike! If you're not too far from Swindon then there's an excellent shop there: E-Motion

Crank or Hub Motor. Which is best?

A powerful motor and a torque sensor is the key to a nice ride for this particular body. A hub motor can be lighter, better value and quieter, separated from the sound-box effect of the frame. There's a price penalty for the torque sensor but the effect is well worth it, in my opinion. Drive...

    Zip Skyline ACF10

This is a 24V bike, as shown here... It should be reading more than 25 Volts fully charged, and if you haven't used that battery for a while then the fault may well be with that.
