    Train E-bike ban

Space for 16 bikes? I've never seen room for any more than 4, what was the layout of the special carriage, is it designed for bikes?

    Train E-bike ban

There are a few bike shops near where I live in Glasgow, it's luck of draw if you'll get a snotty wee d1ck or someone prepared to be helpful and I'm talking here about purely mechanical work, not e-related stuff. Anytime I've dropped off bike to local guy who will help I've removed the battery...

    Train E-bike ban

Scotrail is owned by Scottish Government, given how f*cked they currently are and that they will all probably end up in jail I think ebikes on trains is probably way down their to-do list.

    Train E-bike ban

Trains need a paradigm shift for bike transport. Imagine bike/ebike numbers for whatever reason suddenly rise, when it comes to trains then we're all stuffed, no space, stuck too far for range, walk of shame home. All trains should have min1/2 carriage available for bikes, that would be a start.

    Train E-bike ban

I've only taken my ebike once on train with my son and his MTB from Glasgow to Edinburgh route getting off at Falkirk to see parents, bike carriage was just a space with some straps, no hooks, I cannot see your average Scotrail train guard noticing or caring about fat bike tires? We got spaces...

    Train E-bike ban

Fair play to Scotrail... E-Bikes Electric cycles (e-bikes) can be carried on all ScotRail services. Where cycle storage is provided that involves hanging the bike up by the wheel on our hooked cycle storage, we recommend where possible that customers remove their e-bike battery. This will...

    Local Cop Clampdown?

There are loads of cops about (same spot as previous post), probably this guy deserved to get a pull for driving his gfs Ferrari :p, however, he wouldn't have made it 100yds up that road due to speed bumps... I guess he's a footballer?

    Local Cop Clampdown?

Considering the number of dodgy ebike conversions operating where I live (100s if not 1000s), I saw first one pulled by the cops. Given I was on my 'conversion' I stayed well clear however looks like it could be a 250W motor, wondering if they did him for the red light. They kept him there for...

Aldi bike stand £29.99 Thurs 20th April

If it can hold 30kg (and it looks like it can), fill you boots!! Just remember unless you have assistance to lift a 25+kg ebike then you'll need to wait to next week when Middle of Lidl is doing hoists.... :)

Bafang displays with navigation and Bluetooth

The OP said re using his phone: Works well, but issues: 1. when it rains 2. having to remove for security when stopped and 3. battery life of phone. So OP want 3rd party screen because of above issues. Then after I reply your response was: are you referring to these new Bafang displays? They...

Deliveroo / Uber Eats rider on a Eskuta

£2k for an anaemic 250W 48V motor and no storage, 15.5mph is always the killer, will the white wire trick work and what would range then be? They do look pretty cool though but cannot see many hard core delivery guys buying them given the other options they have re power/range.

Bafang displays with navigation and Bluetooth

It's a nice idea but another device to carry about/charge/worry about getting stolen? You can buy cases for most phones that are rainproof and phone mounts (like mine), where you just release a lever to remove the phone, couldn't be simpler. Whilst it's cool to see controller/battery stats on...

Took bike/alarm out for first test, to a basement bar in Kelvinbridge. We sat up the back where the bike is in the attached video however we got a better bench closer to the river when ppl left but decided to leave bike out of where it was out of the way. It was not locked and did have the...

    Finally Rewired my eBike Electrics!

I post this in hope it may help another relative noob to tidy up ebike cabling, mine was a dogs dinner for ages and I see a few about too. Built this ebike approx 1 yr yr ago, it's a kit, a 1500W rear hub with a 17.5A continuous (35A peak) controller and LG 52V 17.5Ah Hailong. The bag that...

    Another Ebike conversion kit death

Sage words, the problem is though that there are too many people who know enough to get in to a fight and are keen however don't have the requisite knowledge to do it safely. I did my degree decades ago in E&E Eng, did nothing with it in life bar DIY however past 7 yrs have got back in to it...

Help! Would like have a professional consultant please

Yes, you are of course correct re car batteries, I was just trying to illustrate the point that batteries fully charged output a little higher voltage than they are specced as.

Help! Would like have a professional consultant please

You would need to post some clear in focus pics of you bike frame from various angles especially around rear hub and dropouts, it's impossible to tell from the pics above what your frame actually looks like. Also, what is your main use case, fun, commute to work, what range etc? These will...
