    7s booster

You say that now I've ordered 7S  But seriously I don't know enough about the control system to risk over voting it. Over on Hobbyking UK there's some 5.8A 9S packs for £32, I did consider buying them to split down to 7S and make some 2S packs for my RC cars out of the spare cells but...

    Tyres

Well john the key word in that statement is "most" On a 20mile ride, you only need to do 1mile in the slime to see the point of mtb tyres.

    Tyres

Well this is a fast moving thread ! Yes I have a set of smart sam plus tyres (2.1" on 700c rims) they replaced some conti road tyres. I've only done around 140 miles so far but they have been better than I expected, rolling as well as road tyres and grippy as you like in sloppy mud. I'd buy...

    7s booster

Yes the middle pin is there for the display. I did stick 24 volts worth of Nimh across the two outer pins a few weeks ago, just to see how/if it would run without the middle pin. It worked fine, just no battery display on the handlebars. A lipo alarm should sort that out. On the one I have...

    7s booster

First up, I'll put this here as I'm not allowed in the technical section:confused: I have a 2008 Agattu and after a reset my battery test shows 80% (4 lights) I'm now finding Id like to use more assist without loosing any range and maybe gain some. OK so I've just splashed out £115 on two 7s...

hello from West Lancs...This bike look good to you?

Ditto that :) And spinning faster in a lower gear rather than trying to push the tall ones;) I've gone from 5 to 10 miles assisted to 30+ with assist only on the steep hills, that's been mostly last summer, when I got back into regular cycling proper.

Sorry mr sixpence you lost me in there somewhere, I must have nodded off whilst reading. Did you have a point or just a load of leftover words you needed to get rid of.;)

    battery problem? 2008 Pro Connect

I have a 2008 Agattu and assume it has the same battery/ motor combination. I have made some observations since buying the bike 6 years ago. 1/ I find mileage and assist levels are affected by so many different things. On my last ride I just managed 10 miles before the battery was flashing but...

Would you like a wide version of the forum?

What's the problem ? I just double tap my IPad screen and it's full. If you make it any bigger I won't see the edges ;)

    Possible Haibike purchase.

Will it leave you short of money if you buy it. I'd say probably not, or you wouldn't have asked for a price in the first place. Just do it, you know it makes sense.

Latest progress on cell upgrade for Bosch battery.

Interesting Are you saying the BMS fails & no longer allows the remaining good cells to be charged. Or The BMS kills the remaining good cells making the whole thing useless. I'm asking because in the past I've built RC packs (NiMh) using good cells from dead power tools.

    Riding On Pavements

Well I'm holding my breath  Don't get me started, what with cars using the same cycle paths for years for parking  Nothing's ever done. I'm mostly harmless, but one day I'll have a scratchy stick of pointy luggage on my rack;) You just know that'll be the day someone's taking notes...

    Need a more comfy seat

They say "prototype" I say mackled up in a shed out of a e-bike and scrap metal by someone with a new welder and nothing better to do  As you say, it could be done at home, but why would you  When suntour ncx seat posts are lovely and smooth:) And won't snap your frame.

    Points mean Prizes!

I've not yet found out why the points, just lots of people asking about them ! Adds on the right ? I just double tap my IPad screen, the adds disappear and the post I'm reading fills the screen:cool: Big letters for old man eyes:)

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Never to sure about pumps, I always carry one, along with a few scabs and a spare tube. You know the first day I don't carry them, I'll get a puncture:oops: From what I've been reading I think I've been lucky, 2 punctures in 2 bikes & around 1200 miles, both punctures in conti's with protection...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I've no experience of your bike or battery but in the pedelec world there's no such animal as normal;) It's down to how you use it that makes all the difference. My Agattu has a 24v 10A battery, I've learnt to moderate my usage and save the assist for when I really need it, rather than just use...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I'm hoping to get out tomorrow (PM). I've promised the old timers (78&82) a walk in the country (AM). As I'm a youngster (52) I can walk then cycle, I've got a 15 mile ride planed featuring light mud, hard pack gravel & a little Tarmac. :)
