    Gravel Bikes

Is this Boardman a similar idea? I was looking at it in Halfords a week or so ago with interest, thinking it looks a good idea and rugged enough for 20miles daily summer commute and hence why I was enquiring about the q100h motor as a lightweight idea for this when my legs got tired...

    Bank Holiday Weekend Projects

Get up to any bank holiday weekend projects last weekend? In between more painting the house exterior I give myself the project of turning these parts into a normal front wheel since mine needs changing and I hadn't built a normal non motorised wheel yet. Mavic A119 Rim Shimano M525a Hub Halo...

Shimano Hydraulic brake with Switch £75

Looks neater than my attempt which took me quite a while from ordering wrong reed switches and wrong shape magnets to fit etc Looks ok from the top as you can't see anything. Finished them months ago and still not got around to fitting them yet though. These are what I ended up using :-...

Road / track bike for newbie

Is that Q100C motor the same (powerwise) as the Q100H 250RPM sold by BMSB (apart from the cst/freewheel) and even at only 2.5kg would you know if it/they would have the power to push a 10stone person without pedalling at about 22mph?

    Battery charging

I'd also go for full charge once a day, I'd also get a second charger left at work and charge it there since you can, then it's free transport.

    Clear plastic wrap

I used to cut a section off any clear thin plastic bag that are generally used for packaging and hold it on stretched tight with some elastic bands as you can just about see in my avatar pic.

    Tyres

My Cannondale had/have the wafer thin Kenda tyres too and after a few punctures in the rear tyre I changed it to a Schwalbe marathon plus 700cx35. 15'000 road miles later I've had zero punctures. I kept the Kenda on the front as it's quite a grippy tyre with slime in the tube and after about...

    Chain stretch?

When you need to change your chain and jocky wheels.

    Chain stretch?

At 200 miles I would have to change my chain every 10 days. I had to change my chain (and whole drive system) at 13'000 miles because the small round parts between the chain links had wore away to washers and I got a clunky feel when pedalling.

I find the same with new disc pads or when I clean the discs etc where they take a few of days of use before they really bite and give great stopping power.

    Creak -but not my knee!

To determine if it's a brake rubbing, maybe disconnect one at a time with the quick release and do whatever you needed to do, to get the noise. If it's still there then reconnect that brake then disconnect the other and try that one. You could also try wiggling the wheel sideways to see if there...

no reading from wattmeter from battery output terminals?

The ah and watts increase when you are drawing power from the battery as these are calculated from what is actually being used in real time.

no reading from wattmeter from battery output terminals?

Putting the battery on the load side as you have in the photo is for when you are reading the charge going into the battery and the charger's + and - are connected to the red and black on the source side. I use one for that sometimes.

is this wattmeter ok and how to fit

Ideally, when you've fitted it you would charge the battery up to full, then in one go - run the bike until the battery cut's off and take the wh/ah readings for future referance, but the watt meter will also cut off and loose the readings so you would have to keep an eye on it when the battery...

Have you got brake HWBS cutoffs on the brake cables? My BB7's are very good and have an adjusting disc on the front and back which is easy to get to without tools but difficult to adjust with your fingers when they get a bit stiff. They were a good step up from my Tektro Novella brakes I had before.
