Initially it was absolute carp but, after a bit of downhill dragging, seems to be bedding in.
I find the same with new disc pads or when I clean the discs etc where they take a few of days of use before they really bite and give great stopping power.

Do HDB need bleeding or anything if you turn the bike upside down ?
Often, if you hang the brake so that there's a staright line upwards along the pipe to the resevoir, the air goes back to where it came from. That's assuming that your brake went spongy after you inverted it, which doesn't always happen.

Had a 22mile run on the new brakes. 615 with 180mm rotor is *%"^ing awesome. Now I understand why it's only got a teeny little two finger lever. You gotta be gentle with this thing else low speed face plants are on the cards. Haven't shortened the hose yet as I don't have a bleed kit. However, when I did the Magura on my other bike, it didn't need bleeding.
Back brake has bedded in nicely and it's now possible to lock the rear wheel again.
The hills of West Wales are once more my playground:)
