Nice replacement controller - cheap too.

Funny enough I have been wanting to give gripshift a try after my wife got a cheap bike with it and I quite like it, so am purchasing some gripshifters to replace my trigger changers so a right handed one could work out ok. This could work out quite well.

Nice replacement controller - cheap too.

Looks nice and neat. If it was a left handed version I would give it a go, if you come across one please post info.

Small rucksack covers similar to these make good waterproofing covers. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Outdoor-Waterproof-Dust-Rain-Cover-Travel-Camping-Backpack-Hiking-Rucksack-Bag-/201525044540?var=&hash=item2eebd4253c:m:mqacVKBb4TS0yxVZ8ZH51rA

    Battery box/bag needed

I use an idea off D8veh, made from a football boot bag held onto a simple rear rack with a piece of plywood or mdf inside for a base and a velcro strap around it all inside to keep them secure. I use this one which is great because of the double zip opening the whole top...

    Retiring my Battery

It's taken about 3 weeks to test all 40 cells. Here are the 'mah' results. The volt's across the top are what the cells settled to after about a week. So plenty of power there for some powerbanks.

You need something like these, I use them and find they make it much easier when handling the balance wire plugs. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Balance-Plug-Savers-AB-Clip-2S-3S-4S-6S-Li-Po-for-JST-XH-plugs-5pcs-UK-/201246540742?var=&hash=item2edb3a83c6:m:mNNhBGuNUxFTGeUpadhL-Eg

    Battery choices

Insat are a touch more expensive than direct from China but at least you know they will be genuine and get them more or less next day from the UK http://www.bga-reworking.co.uk/e-bike-batteries.html?p=2

    Battery cables and On/Off switch

I see those blade fuses are generally rated at 12v but my controller at max hits 42v @ 16a If I fitted a car style 12v blade fuse do I still need a blade fuse near to 16a or will the fuse amps change with the voltage change?

Hobby king multi star on offer

Interestingly my graphene packs arrived yesterday from the UK warehouse. I guess the dispatch confirmation I got was from the US to them so full marks to them for a quick turnaround. I hope they perform as good as they look.

I would be tempted to get a BC168 charger and charge 6 seperate series at a time up to 4.2v through the balance lead just once or twice, then you know it's been properly balanced. I've done this in the past with my old bottle style battery and that helped me with a capacity issue at the time...

    Motor Bearing Removal

Finally got around to reassembling the motor with new smooth bearings thanks to GAPbearings (ebay). My first attempt at tapping them in failed since I could not get them straight enough, so made a bearing pressing tool out of a large bolt and steel discs thanks to D8veh for that tip in a past...
