    Which Loctite

Thanks SW, that 243 looks just the job, says it's ok on aluminium too.

    Which Loctite

Screw-thread experts, these chainring screws have come loose twice, I don't like tightening them up too much because they are only thin aluminium. Which loctite or equivalent would be the one to stop them coming loose but also allow me to unscrew them in the future without damaging them.

    Lubricating plastic

I think this grease should be ok, it is mineral based and can used around rubber/plastics (but being white might stain?). I've read somewhere a reviewer uses it in his bafang motor with plastic gears without problems. The last Q&A has a link to the datasheet...

Hub motors for thru axle frame?

That's an interesting video, although a bit expensive at the moment. I like the built in torque arm. I was noticing more frames appearing with thru axles, even road bikes and wondered what the motor manufacturers are going to do in the future. I'm thinking that if Grin have developed one then...

Hub motors for thru axle frame?

Thanks for the info, I will bear that clamp in mind in the future.

1000 miles done on Crossfuse E

Yes it's easy, just youtube search headset bearings and you will find lots on servicing/overhauling them so just skip to near the end where they have put them back together and show how to adjust/set them.

1000 miles done on Crossfuse E

The creaking could be coming from your front wheel bearings, push/pull the top of the wheel left/right and see if there is any play. It could be play in the headset bearings, apply front brake and with the bike rocking gently back/forward feel for movement at the top and bottom of the headset...

    Help! Numb Hands

Try ensuring the top's of you hands are in a straight line with the top of you forearm, so there is no bend in your wrist. You might need to move the brakes round on the bars so they are inline with your forearms too.

    Sqeaking brakes

This got me thinking about the bikes disc spoke directions pushing into the brake caliper and comparing that direction with my car brakes in that my car front brakes have the weight/power pushing into the brake calipers (like my bike) work better than my car rear brakes which have the...

    Sqeaking brakes

    I will go off how mine are on my bike and hope they are correct. 1-C, 2-C, 3-C, 4-C, 5-W , 6-C, 7-I, 8-C, 9-C, 10-W

Wheel bending to left under braking, won't align back again

Grab hold of the top of the wheel and try pushing/pulling it left/right (from fork to fork) to see if there is any play in the bearings. With it in the good position stand with your bike and your handlebars turned about 60degrees pointing right, tightly apply the front brake and try rocking the...

    Sqeaking brakes

It would be interesting to see an example of a correct and an incorrect fitted rotor if you have access to any, also explaining the reasons as I have always just gone off the arrows too.

Yes I would. Will there be a rear cassette version at 1.7kg?

    Halfords are truly shocking!

I had to look at the original photo twice to notice it's those tyres, they have directional tread and they are going the wrong way round. Shocking the halfords mechanic never noticed. They did a similar thing to me but I noticed the tread pattern after I'd cycled home with it, the handling felt...

    Help! Lights - again!

I don't bother changing the light's mode when there's oncoming cars, I leave it on high and have it held with those rubber band straps and simply push the whole light forwards, then pull it back. Seems to work ok.

    Deans T-Plug Fans

I never liked the old Deans T-plugs having the (heatshrunk)wires visibly connected to the small plugs and prefered the all enclosed anderson style connectors but I came across a newer version which looks a nice little plug set with the wire ends enclosed in a small housing, so am going to give...

    New Light

These are very bright for the small size but can't be wired to your battery. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151628782015 and these are insanely bright, I use it on the pitch black back lanes only and dip it if anything is coming toward me...

Try dropping to lower gears and let the motor spin faster to let it work more efficiently.
