    cycling helmet with sun visor

I have just started wearing a peaked cap (although I got an actual cycle cap) under my cycle helmet this week and can say what a difference in the sun, I should have started doing it years ago. These have the front peak built in. https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/HEOOEND/on-one-enduro-mtb-helmet...

    Interesting emtb self build

This looks a good project with the finished bike looking like a purchasedf eMTB. Not looked at prices yet though, but must be cheaper than purchasing an equivalent looking one.

    Bafang gear sensor

I like the gear cutoff too after I fitted one but could do with it keeping the power off for about another second longer.

Thanks for the info, I have often wondered what that white grease is inside a motor.

    Small Rear Xiongda Motor

Xiongda told me the gears have been re-designed to make them stronger and so will not fit in my motor inners anymore, so they have sent me a whole new motor inner and it has been delivered already. Excellent customer service from them.

    Spot welder just got smaller......

Did you get a Malectrics one, or never went for it after trying to fix yours. I wonder where all the heat goes in this new one since mine needs a fan blowing over it. I wish mine had a 2 pronged probe though, would be much easier like this new one.

    Small Rear Xiongda Motor

I don't think the hub got hot because I checked it a few times when I used to mess about on it and it was only hand warm. Even if he kept it on a high PAS level it should have handled it as he's only small but yes there is some hills on his paper round which he finds hard, especially on 'double...

    Small Rear Xiongda Motor

The motor has failed after 147 miles. At first I thought it was the bearings until I opened up the motor and found this. Have emailed Xiongda about some replacment gears.

Another little gem on ES Forum.

It's a quality bit of kit and I think you will be pleased with it. Mine came in only about 4 days over christmas. I got it thinking it would be the cheaper option for me since I already had lipo's to power it, but then realised I had no 3S's and also non were at least the recommended 60C+ So...

    I'm bent!

Would you use a BMS with a self built 44v, I can't seem to find one or would you continue balance charging. For wheel lacing I can recommend this book. https://www.wheelpro.co.uk/wheelbuilding/book.php

    oxygen problem

Yes I get exactly the same problem because my cable points up too, although my problem is when it's freezing and the rear brake cable freezes solid so am down to front brake only. As Nealh says above some hydraulics will sort it. I got some of these for £20 each, just havent got round to...

Smart charger available in the UK?

Maybe set one of these to 41v but as others have said the cells will not balance so you would need to do a full charge every several or so cycles (set it to 42v or use your existing charger) just to ensure the cells are balanced every now and then...

    Problems Indexing on a 1x9

Direct from Parktool. Its the PR1 (Parktool Rock 1) and a bargain for about £100. I've got genuine spare ones here you can have for only £20 though if you want.

    eMTB build

It's going really good and considering it's based on a cheap Halfords bike I am quite impressed overall. The gearing is great for off-road and getting up some steep muddy sections, or even through any deep mud. Ideally I would like the chainline a bit better as when in 1st gear the chain...
