This will cheer you up on a dreich Sunday, what's more fun than watching scum get knocked off their mopeds! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-london-46321715

UK driving licence categories and Electric bikes.

I do get the appeal of a petrol bike over an ebike I had a kawasaki 125 when I was a student (student loan). I sold it after about a week, I didn't have any accidents but did have a couple of close calls that were not my fault (morons pulling out in front of me), and they could've gone either...

UK driving licence categories and Electric bikes.

For me it's not about top speed (I start shiting it when bike goes much over 22mph even on a good road), but hills, 1500W breezes up any hill of any length at speed, I can draw 1800W from the KT controller going up Gardner St in west end (the really steep hill from Taggart credits)! Why I love...

Guilty... Why do you think otherwise? Unless you have got a DSA type, taxed it and got insurance which you won't get in UK it's illegal?

'How I led police to a thief and got my bike back'

Kryptonite Evolution on the bike frame, apparently he'd 'forgot' the Kryptonite cable for back wheel...expensive mistake for him. I won't be paying this time and it will make a big dent in his 'savings'. Time he learnt...harsh as that is...the cable would've stopped the casual thief...

'How I led police to a thief and got my bike back'

This is what the scum left him, looks like a piece of ** to me and worthless.... Cnt was obviously passing on his bike, saw the wheel and swapped them when it was locked outside row of shops and he was playing football nearby.... Original rear wheel:

'How I led police to a thief and got my bike back'

My son pung me this morning to say hs rear wheel had just been nicked and replaced by one too large....thieving scum... He reported it to two cops he passed as he was walking to school, guess what, they couldn't have given a fck and didn't even take his name....scum....

'How I led police to a thief and got my bike back'

I saw that article earlier, he was one very lucky dude, 99.9% of cops won't even take a statement unless you demand a crime number for insurance...even then they point you to doing it online as mostly IMO they are lazy useless cnts.

29er MXUS XF07 wheel build, good idea, bad idea?

I'm still sceptical, what black magic is this...they claim samsung 21700s 52V 20Ah for £215...? A fire sale in lieu of regulations I could maybe understand, but that doesn't seem like the case? Is there such a thing as a cradle adaptor for Parrot to allow them to fit on a 5pin Hailong base...

    Odd charger behaviour

Probably I'm inverse to you if that is possible, electronics stuff doesn't stress me at all or I wouldn't go near it in most of my hobbies (music production/guitars/3D printing/slot cars/drones/ebikes). Until quite recently I felt my heart race if I had to look at my broken mechanical rear hub...

    Odd charger behaviour

https://photos.app.goo.gl/vWkomCzrjXMQboUZ6 All plug and play from this dude's design, biggest problem is 'minifying it' in to fit in the space. https://hackaday.com/2019/11/12/printed-arduino-turntable-takes-objects-for-a-spin/

    Odd charger behaviour

Yes, a kit like that is a pretty good intro to making you own functioning circuits that do stuff! I bought a similar kit probably 10yrs ago from Sunfounder to teach my son, I actually did use a lot of the components in the end, I made a photogrammetry table using the 2*16 LCD display with...

    Odd charger behaviour

I'd be wary of using the cheapos in the link you posted, it's essentially same as the voltmeter/ammeter (see my previous post) you get in same form factor On my slot car track I repurposed a Dell ATX power supply for 5V and 12V rail DC power supply under track for all the accessories that need...

    Odd charger behaviour

Agreed, checking continuity is very useful to find broken wires and tracing cables etc., and again requires no skill other than being able to use the probes. The Lidl multimeter has a specific continuity setting and beeps as you say (most do) but not a problem if yours doesn't, just set it to...

    Odd charger behaviour

To do some basic battery and charger tests really you need zero skills, just the co-ordination to hold two probes against two metal contacts and be able to read the display at the same time without falling over... :) You would be switching on your charger and measuring for example the voltage...

Torque Arm Installation - Rear Hub - Best Practice?

Nice idea but I wouldn't then easily be able to take off TA for example to fix a puncture? Will look in to what I need for stronger 5mm bolts, current ones are probably over 20+yrs old but still look good, they've led a stress free life so far as only ever held the derailleur guard on ;-)

Torque Arm Installation - Rear Hub - Best Practice?

Having two arms linked might give more scope for lining everything up however again there is an obvious weak link in the connecting bolt? Surely better to just have one piece that is a good fit? You lost me at 'exhibit waterjet taper and what not '...

Torque Arm Installation - Rear Hub - Best Practice?

1500W motor (sheep, lamb etc.) Current plan is TA will be cut using 4mm (or 5mm) 304 stainless steel, still looking at quotes, it's a small part, approx £20 - £30 for 2 pieces I will be ordering at some point next week. Or I can buy my own 5mm sheet for under £5 and take that to local CNC guy...
