Rear Hub Motor - Correct Order for Washers?

Yes, the Allen screw that is holding the derailleur hanger takes up some space in dropout but the bike has always been like that even with original derailleur from Halfords (it's an old Apollo), that I removed. I don't think there is another way to mount derailleur on the frame given it's...

Rear Hub Motor - Correct Order for Washers?

Thanks for the responses. The axle nuts do have the serrated inside edges for grip however the washer on drive side next to axle nut doesn't, just a plain washer, I have seen some one-sided serrated washers in that position and will look to see if I have any. Is there any advantage to adding a...

Rear Hub Motor - Correct Order for Washers?

I'm not really a mechanical guy so here we go...I noticed my rear hub was starting to spin out of dropout on drive side and didn't have a spanner to tighten it back up when I was out. This is the current setup as it came back from bike guy I just wanted to check the order of where the dropout...

eBike Rear Hub - Clicking Noise

Finally got my ebike back today, like the return of an old friend, forgot how much fun it is and will save me a few quid in taxis since I got rid of the car 3months ago as an 'experiment'. It rips the two steepest hill in the west end at 20mph, Gibson street up to Hillhead St and Gardner St...

    "We save ebikes from landfill"

Thanks, he said it was owned by a Chinese family and yes some of the conversions look a bit dodgy, both sites also have this peppered about too: Notes: Motors over 250 watt are strictly for off road use only or on private land Loose rear dropouts was another thing bike guy said he'd seen from...

    "We save ebikes from landfill"

I think you may be right... Took my ebike with the newly fixed rear hub (new bearings and cassette), to local bike guy to get him to put on rear hub/torque arm and do quick final mechanics checkover. We got talking for 20mins and he mentioned that he was getting lot of work from botched jobs...

He could save the hassle of all that wiring nonsense with just a large hamster wheel welded on and a hungry stoat?

That's what the Breville is for, cheese toasties! A 'slow' cooker appeared a few weeks ago, why anyone would want to cook slowly is beyond me, I get grumpy when my bacon takes more than a couple of minutes to cook under grill...

When I was a student a 2 bar electric fire was a luxury if both (even one) of the bars worked. Unfortunately they gave out fck all heat in a freezing flat. Also too easily broken by constantly lighting marlboro ciggies of the bars.

I got rid of my car in June to see how it went walking and cycling everywhere. Benefits include the Woodlands road Sainsburys round corner from snooker club where I've been teaching my son past few years. When I took car we never went near it...now I have discovered that they do a 'dine for two'...

+1 for gas hob and dual electric fan oven, best of both worlds! You can't cook a decent steak on an electric hob as you just can't get the heat right, with gas it's easy to get the perfect steak you want every time. We were in London for a week in summer staying in a friend's flat on...

The chance of being hurt is very high when people bring their bikes indoors. That doesn't make sense to me 'very high' is meaningless, surely smoking or cooking when tired or drunk has been responsible for hurting way more people comparatively than your ebike catch fire?

    I sold my ebike.

True... Yes to reduce diameter and weight (significantly), but it should be capable of 22mph Cruise on flat and assist up hills and still have throttle for testing. Can you recommend a cpl of links for a 250W hub that I could get 22mph from my KT controller/display and 52V battery? What do...

    I sold my ebike.

The 1500W hub is massive give away and attracts attention and is bloody heavy (10kg) and I ain't getting any younger and live on 2nd floor and bike lives in flat. I have seen 500W motors that look only to be a little larger than 250W. Can you recommend a couple of links for 250W or brands as...
