    Proposal For Discussion Rules

Clearly many people, myself included, are fed up with the repetetive theads on the same subject. When one looks it is easy to see that it is a very small percentage of members creatating a wholly disproportionate amount of unpleasantness. Perhaps in future these people could consider the...

    New Ezee Dealer

There was a thread started by Flecc giving full details of this soon to be launched venture a few weeks ago. Unfortunatly a few indiviuals siezed the opportunity to use it to air their personal gripes and Russ obviously felt he had little option but to delete it. We were told that an...

Hi ! And is there a tour de Presteign this year?

Please Stay On Topic Will those trying to hijack this thread and turn it into yet another tedious consumerist topic please read and stick to the following forum rule. "4. Do not stray from the discussion topic." Those of with no axe to grind find it very irritating that the same subject keeps...

    controller compatability

In this case it should be OK to swap the controllers, both motors are brushed and therefore require a simple two wire DC suppy, which apart from possible voltage and current differences will be the same. With brushless motors there are other things to consider and it get more complicated. PS...

Hi ! And is there a tour de Presteign this year?

Frank, you must be number 54 in the small picture then, the others being David Henshaw and Ken Ching.

Euro Reaches 81p, Thought For The Day

I think that is ofset to some extent by the fact that the wholesale price of the bikes at source should be falling as they contain a large number of imported components, not least of which being the expensive motor unit and these are getting a lot cheaper from a European perspective.

New Sanyo batteries for Ezee bikes.......

Good to hear that Pink Floyd, please do keep us posted as to how it goes as there are a lot of us interested.

    Gazelle Innergy

I can't see that small hub motor and battery supplying much power, they look somewhat similar to those used elsewhere with a fancy name but limited success. It looks like a cost reduction similar to what Giant did with the Twist.

    Ebike Life

Joe, the F series has never appealed to me, striking me as overpowered and more moped like, I think the Torq is far more of a cyclists bike but that's just a personal view. I have to say the Sprint isn't really my kind of bike either, but it was an irresistible secondhand bargain and has proved...

    Two Part Agattu Mudguard

Using self-adhesive copper tape (From dolls-house suppliers) on the inside of the mudguard is an old trick to hide the wiring. With a new mudguard on the way this trick hopefully won't be needed, but may be of interest to others.

    Ebike Life

My first bike, a cheap Synergie with a Tonxgin nano-motor lasted 6 months during which time it suffered repeated controller failures and a multitude of other problems attributable to poor design and construction. My present bikes are an Ezee Torq and an Ezee Sprint the former almost 2 years old...

    Sensorless speed controllers

The Austrian member kraeuterbutter has oftem made comparisons to RC aeromodelling, he's obviously an enthusiast himself. However as far as I know he hasn't yet tried any RC technology on a bike. It certainly sounds attractive, the motors used in models are small, light and very powerful. As I...

    New Bike

Hi Sasha, if you fit the computer sensor further down the fork leg closer to the hub it should be possible to get the required 5mm distance, failing that you can put some packing between it annd the fork leg, a lump of rubber such as that often supplied as packing with cycle accessories being...

    Cheap Panniers etc. From Lidl

Very easy Jeanette, they just drop on to the rack and are secured with straps, it's self explanatory when you try it. The only thing to really watch is that the lower straps are secure as they can become entangled with the wheel or chain if they come loose.

    MAN's or GIRLY bike?

I'm convinced that mounting my Torq, which has a wheel diameter equal to my inside leg measurement, helps keep me in shape. As a youngster I never had a problem mounting the then standard 27" wheeled bikes but when I returned to cycling many years later I found that getting my leg over a 26"...

would you dare ride on this path ?? me thinks not

Yes it got me a bit like that Frank. I had to take a step back the screen to reassure myself I was still at home, and the howling wind was outside!

    ebike key switch

I agree with John in that the switch rating is it's switching capacity, rather than it's carrying capacity which will be higher. The lower current rating at higher voltage is a result of arcing that will take place when the switch interrupts the current, but in this application the switch won't...

    Cycle Workshop Stand

I suspect that attitude is based on either ignorance or prejudice. A torq with the battery removed is under 20Kg , many unpowered bikes are this weight and virtually all tandems and work bikes are considerably heavier. DIY stands tend be a bit flimsy but a professional workshop stand such as...
