Eddie, I bought an exposure joystick head torch and its so light, excuse the pun, that you don't notice it. It's fab and i attached the small red light onto the back of it. Great beam for spotting deer at night in local woods. I also bought the Garmin 820 and always carry my phone. I feel safer...

    2.4 " off road tyres

IMHO, if tyres are that much of a nightmare to get on / off then i wouldn't buy them. Can you imagine it's getting dark and starting to rain, OMG!!!! I only say this as i slightly damaged a rim in the past due to difficulty getting certain tyres on rim, and it's no fun when you get a puncture...

    The dangers of buying on-line.

I think i'd just bite the bullet, accept i goy it cheaper from Wheelies and take it to local shop. It's not going to cost much anyway.

    2.4 " off road tyres

Funny, I've had 2 bike fits over last 3 years and both said different things, both were well over £100 as well. I kept the info they give me working of a mean average, all to do with inside leg, arm length etc etc. The point being that i've learned to have the correct tyre pressure for...

News: German cycle industry takes a stronger stance against e-bike ‘tuning’

Going around in circles here. My last comment would be someone will usually always find away around an item being tamper proof, and certainly a much more expensive motor than bosch for an e-bike. One of my friends is German, lives in hamburg and his business is to chip tune cars and very...

News: German cycle industry takes a stronger stance against e-bike ‘tuning’

The motors are designed well within tolerances, so a little extra speed is not going to hurt motor or anyone else, providing cyclists are sensible. Have a look at strava times around Richmond Park, or some downhill times i wouldn't even do in a car. Bearing in mind these are just e-bikes, i...

    Don't believe everything you see

I've still got some old cheap chinese lights i bought that are supposed to be twice as bright as my new exposure lights (uk brand). I was sure of the outcome when i put the lights together for quick beam test. The exposure was much brighter, i'm sure your not surprised. Not always, but its...

    The dangers of buying on-line.

I've had slx brakes (nearly put sex) on my last mtb, they are great brakes and just as good imho as xt and xtr, which i've also used. I'm sure its just a simple bleeding issue, as you said

    cycling getting harder

Sorry, i know you weren't. It may have been the way i wrote email. Another reason i love e-bikes is for exactly the same reason as you said. Hence i did put a :)

    The dangers of buying on-line.

I must admit i'm coming around to the idea on buying locally, and on recommendations. Saying that, i have a shower bought through Amazon prime some 3 months ago. Its not working and Amazon have collected it and given me a full refund. I will not be buying from Wheelies. Suggest you tell them...

    cycling getting harder

Real cyclist!. Really, i'm both and don't feel any guilt. Cycle for yourself, forget others whether you pass them or they pass you. Real! as you call it cyclists vary as do e-bikers, from old to young, fat to thin, fit to ?, high end bikes to old rust buckets. I've been beaten by older +60...

News: German cycle industry takes a stronger stance against e-bike ‘tuning’

Good point, but as i do lots of business in Germany and stay there often, you should here them moan about their government. It is very much a bIg brother state.

    cycling getting harder

Yes. This is all good, as you've passed assist and using mainly your own power. Either, get a speed dongle or non assist bike if you wish to go faster or improve fitness.

News: German cycle industry takes a stronger stance against e-bike ‘tuning’

No surprise of course, Germans over regulate everything, just ask a German. This will not effect speed tuning as like other industries there's always ways around things and people able and wanting to do it. Being honest, myself included.

Bought the Garmin Varia "Perfect for commuting"

Tested mine tonight on a 10 mile ride. I felt safer and happier i knew what was around me. It's not perfect, but very good for price. Yes i'll be using my other senses when traffic is around as it doesn't like sharp hill crests and lost traffic for a few seconds. I think we are all saying we...

E-bike with motors greater than 250w, speeds above 15mph and the UK police

I agree with all comments above, damn!. One other point is that we all know e-bikes and component sales are on the rise, not just because of age, aches n pains but because there fun and you can get to work without having to have a shower after. As these bikes develop and batteries improve it...
