TSZD2B clutch failure. Any tips on replacement?

The gear is scheduled to arrive at end of the month. I tried cleaning the old gear. It was easy to remove by hand. No puller needed, Remove pedal and crank gear. Motor cover held by four small screws. Remove circlips (I had a tool), The big gear lifts off. The gear has two clutch bearings in...

    Dual Battery Connection Adapter

Peikert's Law says batteries are less efficient at higher currents. According to his law, two batteries in parallel will have greater range than two run separately. I see Peukert's law works when I test capacity of bare cells or completed batteries at different currents, However, it's not...

    Thioughts on removeable kit,

After more thought, I think a smaller front motor is best approach. Not going to recommend a TSDZ2B.

TSZD2B clutch failure. Any tips on replacement?

Here's what's going on. Definitely a quirky bearing. .All I have is brake cleaner and penetrating oil. Guess it can't hurt to try a squirt. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0e8Lns3lfwU When I get the new gear, I will see if I can anchor it above the old rear with five extra long bolts. Then a...

TSZD2B clutch failure. Any tips on replacement?

I recall reading a post where someone pressed the bearing out of a TSDZ2B gear and a million bearings and springs flew out, so I will buy the whole assembly, It also appears to be only sold as a complete assembly, Now to decide if I want to get it from pswpower or someone else.

TSZD2B clutch failure. Any tips on replacement?

My wife said her TSDZ2B pedals were slipping intermittently. I tried turning the pedal by hand. Sure enough, it's slipping and I can spin the pedals freely by hand w/o the chain/crank moving. What a POS motor. That's a clutch fail. I watched the Tong Sheng video. Guess I need to rig a crank...

    Thioughts on removeable kit,

Yes, I have taken the chains off. I cannot turn the bare shaft of my wife's TSDZ2B by hand, but it moves OK with leverage from a pedal. My TSDZ2 and BBS02B are less stiff. In my opinion the force required to move the wheel with the chain is much much higher. If the weight is down, and you have...

    Thioughts on removeable kit,

My nephew has a newer Trek gravel bike, 700 wheels, that he wants to motorize. Trouble is he wants to remove the kit in summer. He uses the bike to commute, about 8-10 miles one way. I rode his route last August. Beautiful paved path, goes between his house in the suburbs and right to the...

Help! Converting folder bike to cassette

I don't maintain my freewheels and the DNP on my 20" froze its pawls at 3K miles. The one on my wife's 20" bike froze up a few months later when she crossed 3K miles. I did not know that you could loosen them up with a long soak in penetrating oil. A short soak didn't work and I bought...

    Need a hub motor recommendation - 36h rear cassette, 135mm OLD, 36V, 250-350W, 328rpm for 16" wheel build

How about the Q100H freewheel or AKM100H. Both are available in 328 rpm, as I think they are either the same motor or one is a good copy. The nice thing about the freewheel version is that they use two spacers and a nut under the freewheel to set the OLD. I had a 130mm alloy frame that I was...

    Geeko rear hub kit

Exactly! If your conversion kit will allow the motor to maintain current, while you pedal faster, this is how cadence sensors feel natural. There are some controllers that won't do this. SOme are hard wired like that. Others can be changed with user settings. Avoid the first. After riding...

    Help! Tongsheng thumb throttle

As I understand it, the 6 pin and 8 pin controller circuit boards are the same, but the display cable doesn't contain the +5 throttle power and throttle signal. If you plug a throttle into the middle of your 6 pin VLDC5, it's not connected. You need a VLDC5 with an 8 pin cable and an 8 pin...

    Beautiful ebike conversion

I didn't stick around for the phone call. Well. if he bought that bike, he got screwed. You can't be selling a fast ebike with no torque arms.

    36v battery with 48v motor

I like it when you guys talk about motors I have owned. The Q100H/AKM100H is quite a mighty little guy. in a 20" wheel. I've pulled over 150Kg with one in a front wheel. In my 20" folder with a rear wheel, because of the weight distribution, it has lifted the front wheel on a hard start, and...

Review of Argos £245 E-move folder

Back to little folders. Yes, they grow on you. I built one as a lark back in 2017, and my wife stole it, abandoning her nice 700cc stepthru conversion. I built a second one for myself and we've put on close to 4000 miles each on these folders. With Schwalbe Big Apple tires, we can ride on gravel...

Review of Argos £245 E-move folder

The 18650's last a long time in storage, if there is no draw. I have some leftover new Samsung cells from 2021, stored outside, They're still holding their shipped voltages. Also will test to their rated AH on a Liitokala tester, for what that's worth, Meta AI tells you they lose 1-3% a month...

Review of Argos £245 E-move folder

"A huge bargain at £245." Certainly is. At 25 kg, it must be all steel, including rims, seat post, and handlebars. I don't think they make steel steerers for folders.

Review of Argos £245 E-move folder

Here's the switch in this half finished rack battery. This one isn't bad. I've seen some really cheap units. All they do is switch a low current circuit in the BMS. Easily replaced.

    Questions on a new conversion

I've built several bikes with the AKM100 motor. Great performance and reliability. However it costs me more than a TSDZ2 mid drive to assemble an AKM kit ala carte. Places like BMSbattery and top bike kit charge a lot to ship a motor/wheel. I just buy the bare motor and lace my own wheels, but...

Car Jump Starter as backup pedelec battery?

Efficiency might be poor with one and a DC booster. I once bought three on clearance, and hooked them in series, It worked OK for a 250W ebike, although I didn't know at the time that a total voltage from a series combo might blow out the BMS circuits. That never happened, but I left the...
