    36v 10s9p battery bms

I never owned one, but would expect a BBS01B to draw around 12-14A max. I've had two BBS02B's and they were 25A and 18A respectively, so I think your BMS will be more than adequate. The MJ1 is rated at 3.5AH, so 9P is 31.4AH, giving you over 1100 Watt-hours in theory. Wow.

    36v 10s9p battery bms

I bought a few UPP batteries from 2017 thru 2021. All still work, but the ones with premium cells are appreciably stronger. Three 36V bottle packs, one 36V Silverfish, a 48V Dolphin and a 48V Hailong. The Hailong 48V10Ah was the most recent pack. I didn't see anything wrong with its...

    48V Battery

For a small motor. like the TSDZ2 in Eco/Tour mode, does a 14S-1P battery made with Molicel P42A's make sense? My TSDZ2 only pulls 8A max riding around with light assist, and peaks at 12A in turbo, according to my wattmeter. Looking at the discharge curves, the P42A will do at least 3.5AH at...

    48V Battery

Google says 21700's are 300WH/kg while 18650's are 250W/kg. However, I see my Samsung 50E's are said to be 68-70 grams, while my 18650 GA's are 45-48 grams. Using the max capacity of 5WH and 3.5WH respectively, I'm calculating 260-280 WH/kg for both type of cells, no real advantage in weight...

    Swapping wheel rims

Building wheels is not hard. What is hard is ordering the right size spokes. I know what the larkbox went thru, but I ate the cost. With doublewall rims, it's OK to have them a mm too long, as you can use washers.

Help! Lightweight e-kit for coaster brake bike - alternate e-bike and 'normal' bike experience.

Here's the PSWpower coaster brake option for 36V. There might be a 48V version. https://pswpower.com/products/europe-china-stock-tongsheng-36v-250w-350w-tsdz2-electric-bicycle-central-mid-motor-torque-sensor-with-coast-foot-brake-function-21 I've installed two 48V TSDZ2/TSDZ2B kits. Here's the...

    Help! KT P and C settings (Swytch motor, 36v 10.6 battery , KT 15amp controller) L5 max 18kmh

I have a motor tester that tests the Hall sensors, so I count how many times they flash. You can also do it by feel, with two phase wire tied together. I'm dubious about that, because of the strength of cogging, but people say it works. By the way, I have an AKM 100 and mine is 12.5:1 gearing,

    My new favourite battery

Sorry to be a grinch. Is it a sturdy frame bag? I think the vulnerability in these triangle batteries is that their weight makes them prone to damage if the battery falls off the bike. Unit Pack Power Triangle packs are now banned from sale in both the UK and USA because of fires (seven...

TSDZ2 with OSF in Cadence Mode

I use one of those inexpensive wattmeters between the battery and the controller. They can be variable in accuracy, but this one has been verified to be within 5% on current with my expensive clamp-on DC ammeter and also a fairly accurate load tester. I assume that if the current is close...

TSDZ2 with OSF in Cadence Mode

I was going to pursue this last year, but got sidetracked. My wife was unhappy with torque sensing on her TSDZ2B equipped bike. Not enough power. The embrusa/OSF allowed me to do a switch from Hybrid mode to Cadence mode in the field. She liked it immediately, and I was surprised at the...

Help! Lightweight e-kit for coaster brake bike - alternate e-bike and 'normal' bike experience.

No one has mentioned the Tong Sheng TSDZ2 mid drive kit with coaster brake option yet? I will. It's almost the same price as most hub motor kits. It doesn't need brake levers or throttle. Doesn't have the risk of snapping the forks like a front motor. I think it is very simple to install too...

48v left- what range left ?

Matthew has it right. Voltage sag will cause the bike to shut off when the nominal battery voltage is 42-44 volts, above the 40V cutoff you may expect. It's always there, and if you have the means to view it on your meter when riding, you can see the difference between being under power and...

    AKM Hub motor

I have installed several AKM100H's on 20" hubs with 20x2" tires. One bike has 8000 miles. I don't think I would go any smaller than than 100H for a 26" wheel, and would prefer the larger AKM128,

    Tongsheng thumb throttle

Are you running stock TSDZ2 firmware? The only time my throttle did not work was when I first loaded in the OSF firmware. I configured it wrong and had no throttle. Otherwise, it's always been active on both the kits I've installed, It works as long as you select one of the four assist modes...

    Battery help

Samsung 21700 cells in a 48V30AH battery would mean a 13x6 cell matrix assuming 5AH cells. A very nice battery, At 25A, each cell needs to provide only 4.1A, which is well within capability.

    Battery help

I've never seen more than 25A measuring with an peak current wattmeter from my first BBS02 from 2015. I believe Bafang has lowered the max current too on newer motors. I think a 35A BMS is more than enough.

    Battery help

You need a battery that can put out 30A. That's relatively easy with a 30Ah pack if the seller is honest. Not going to bore you with the math, but as long as they use high current cells, you'll get the current.. . Back in 2015, I bought a 48V12ah pack that was rated for 30A for my BBS02 Also...

    Battery drains fast!

50% after 17 miles with a 1000Wh battery? That's around 25WH/mile. You must have been averaging over 20 mph, wearing bulky clothing to catch the wind. For a slower speed comparison, my BBS02 runs under 10WH/mile at 12 mph, same as my hub motor ebikes. I've tracked it at 20 WH/mile when riding...

    KT LCD 3 POWER SETTINGS

This is why I own the LCD3, I want to see the instantaneous wattage, the ambient temperature, my miles travelled and the speed. It also calls up the voltage, max and average speed. You can buy the LCD1 which only shows the speed, but then you lose ability to l lower the current settings I...
