iirc naptha is an ideal solvent to dilute silicone sealant so it can be sprayed like paint with a garden pressure pump. though its highly flammable so care needs to be taken while curing.. Come on lads, @oneflewover is showing some good ol British bull headedness he wants to do it, and by...

Hi, n welcome.. Frequently when looking online for ebike display manuals there will be 2 versions 1) a short 2-3 page intro document, but often there will be a more detailed 'real manual' with significantly more pages and info. i find using the key words 'manual pdf' in the google search will...

    bike battery no green light

What metric should we be on top of for basic battery care, Until reading the above my impression was to minimise the number of charge cycles so letting the battery deplete to circa 34-35v would be preferable to recharging at 38-9v??

While not severely overweight i mass over 90kg, and require quite high tyre pressures as to not kerb puncture tubes and bottom out tyres, and can be a pita with a basic bike pump to keep topped up so i bought an ali express or ebay or amazon 'bargain' mini stirrup pump with a built in pressure...

Which ebike is best to speed up commute, must be able to pedal at 30 km/h

99% sure there is no stuck clutch as the difference if any is slight and the following day when i ride off without power (most trips start off downslope from here) any sign of resistance has gone.. BTW i do generally turn the bike on to check battery level when starting off but turn it off again...

Sure i agree fix first but when a fix is not an option, my last tube failure was a huge split for example. is it a dodgy solution that might get you home if your lucky or something that works and provides realistic expectations for longevity? .

Which ebike is best to speed up commute, must be able to pedal at 30 km/h

Like @Peter.Bridge above i can ride out on my bike with no noticeable drag from the hub drive. However when switching off the power mid ride i do feel an increase in the resistance to pedalling beyond that felt when starting off without any power? My limited understanding of electricity and...

Converting a tandem with 500w Bufang Rear Hub Motor - powerful enough?

Grin ebikes.ca has a good deal of info including a motor simulator you can use to compare different motors.. And while very few people have reported ever being stopped by police on an ebike, That could change. But more importantly if in the case of an RTA a 500w motor comes to light on your...

    downtube battery

If your battery is shaped like mine a few cable ties joined together in a large loop can secure the battery to the tube and slip off and back on again when the battery needs removing.. Thinner cable ties have more elastic stretch to slip on and off again if concerned with their strength...

Converting a tandem with 500w Bufang Rear Hub Motor - powerful enough?

from your link, so yes that has ample headroom to provide full power to a 20a controller with no concerns. As long as your not pumping excessive power into the motor for long durations over a 5-10mile climb it shouldn't overheat. Excess heat is the enemy when over-volting/over amping a...

Review Cube Touring Hybrid Pro 625

Front mudguard issue.. possibly a 'wobbly' rivet connection between the fixing bracket and the mudguard itself, a few drops of thin superglue on the rivets can 'solid them up keeping the mudguard in a single position..

Do any cadence sensored hub motor controllers activate pedal assist when ghost pedalling backwards as well as forwards?

Is one of us having a 'blonde moment', seems like more effort you put in (higher cadence same gear) the less the motor needs to provide to maintain the same output?? - Doh! - yeah it was late last night - great time for overlooking whats right in front of you.. cheers..

Converting a tandem with 500w Bufang Rear Hub Motor - powerful enough?

Not a tandem rider, but the legal restriction of a 250w rated motor can be 'navigated' legally. And provide ample power/oomph for most situations. Watts the unit of power is the product off Volts and amps applied, (remember VxA = W) So simply applying more volts and amps with suitable...

Do any cadence sensored hub motor controllers activate pedal assist when ghost pedalling backwards as well as forwards?

Perhaps? with a small dc motor and a cheap all in one pas sensor, you could rig up a push button to turn the motor to rotate the pas sensor, box it up somewhere and hide it on the bike, route the button to the handle bars and the pas signal wire and ground to the pas sensor input of your...

My bike is barely engaging the motor then it flashes error 24

No, just disconnect the motor end plug/socket, and unplug the cable where it plugs into the controller connectors. top-tip. If you have to pull the cable through the frame etc, tie a strong cord to the end first and pull that through to replace the cable and pull through the replacement when...

My bike is barely engaging the motor then it flashes error 24

proximity is irrelevant, if 2 wires connect a shorted component 500 meters away could suffer damage as a result.
