    Motor diagnostics..

That was my initial plan @saneagle until i started to google, and circuits with 1 or 2 resistors that would require an ebay/amazon order to be made before i could find some at the back of a drawer started showing up and the diode mode test 'seemed' like a extra component free option.. My...

    Motor diagnostics..

I have tested the hub motor hall sensors (pictures attached) Using the diode setting of my meter each signal connection of the sensors all read 466-467 against common ground, sensors B and C read similar between + and -. sensor A Read 780 between +, and - 300 units higher than the others...

    Volt Electric Bikes

If exchanging a rear wheel is within your capacity and you have an afternoon to spare I would recommend considering a kit conversion onto a comfortable to ride bike with good brakes ;)

    100% NO idea

looks like someone has been in there with a flat blade screwdriver to 'adjust' the inner 2 terminals a little more than the outside 2?? though it could be a camera angle/light thing?? ebike volt meters are a thing and at about a fiver might be a better buy than a multimeter if battery testing...

    For Sale Bargains

Not as versitile as a multimeter but if battery voltage is the only reason for getting one one of these ebike volt meters might be a better buy?

    de-restricting my e-bike controler

For most hub motors the sledgehammer approach taken by many is to replace the controller/display with a KT brand controller display combo. at a cost of circa £80-100 depending on source and display selection. A higher amp rated controller could supply more power to the motor if within your...

    Hiplok problems

One good thing about ebikes, the extra mass of locks isnt the big deal it can be under pedal power alone ;) I would try 'working' the lock as it may be your item is at one end of the cumulative tolerances bell curve and just needs wearing in a bit?? repeated opening closing with it secured in a...

Brake mods on an old tourer.

Is keeping the original forks a must? Are replacement forks with a disk brake mount an option? If the current brakes are functional i would only look at the front for a hydraulic disk upgrade anyway, iirc from my m/cycling days your front brake provides 70%+ of the braking effort so is where...

    Greeting! I am new here

Why build the battery yourself? is your bike/ev config special ? Do you have a particular range or weight target to hit? Or is it simply an area of personal interest and opportunity to learn and expand skills? We like project details in here ;)

    Traffic noise while riding.

Fwiw I can not cope with internal ear plugs i have yet to try one i can handle for longer than 10 seconds, consiquently i use an old pair of sony hook on the ear -phones.. corded unfortunately, but with the bonus that they do not drown out ambient noise at all ( volume level depending)

E-bike journeys and pictures around the South Tyne Valley

Ha! what is a pleasant diversion for you is what keeps all the locals out of town here. When they arrive in a convoy of coaches starting at 9 am in numbers that fill the streets from side to side, its good for the few remaining shopfronts and cafe's but getting to the dentist is a real pita...

"How to protect your e-bike after huge spike in thefts"

I frequently hesitate before pulling the battery off my bike and going into the supermarket as i glance around and see another ebike often with its battery still in place.. But then i think that any thief will go for the bike with a battery first and pull mine off and lug it with me..
