100% NO idea

Yesterday went a 5 hour round trip to collect my bike and replacement battery.

Rode 5 miles BEFORE coming home to make sure it worked.

Took off battery
Put bike in car
Came home
This morning put battery on bike, NOTHING
I have TWO identical setups, tried battery on other bike NOTHING

I am glad I have TWO identical bike setups.

The OTHER battery 100% NO problem and rode the bike 14 miles.

Tried the new battery on the OTHER bike, same thing NOTHING.

You're suffering the result of bad karma. Try this:

• Only say nice things to people, even when they don't deserve it.
• Help a few old ladies across the road.
• Go down the town centre and give some money to poor or homeless people.
• Rescue a bumblebee from the footpath.
• Stop eating red meat.

After about 2 weeks, your battery should start working again.

A voltage meter , simply turn the dial to DC 200v and probe the +/- output of the battery .
It should give the battery voltage reading.

Yes either will be fine , the DC scale is the white scale to the LHS of the dial.
As with all meters DC LHA , AC RHS.

Measure between either '+' and either '-' as the two '+' are connected together internally as are the '-'.

Take a reading from the outer marked +/-, it doesn't matter which way around the meter probes go in.
In fact do the test by swapping the probes over to learn how correct polarity works, when the polarity reading is wrong you will see the voltage reading with a minus in front of it.

If you're new to electrics don't use the meter terminal marked 10A / mA10A yet. With a battery, work slowly in good light in a comfortable position, and if anything isn't what you expect take a moment to think it through or read up. Maybe steady both hands on a surface and move one probe at a time like a pen.

A battery's costly so if I were the supplier I'd walk you through every step in minute detail before considering replacing it. A headcam video could make short work of that. Good luck.

looks like someone has been in there with a flat blade screwdriver to 'adjust' the inner 2 terminals a little more than the outside 2?? though it could be a camera angle/light thing??

ebike volt meters are a thing and at about a fiver might be a better buy than a multimeter if battery testing is its only job.. just be mindful a cheap volt meter may not be as tolerant as a multimeter when it comes to polarity so just remember as a rule red is positive black is negative

Who is your battery supplier?

The terminals look blackened. It's best to turn the battery off before sliding it into or out of the battery mount, else there's a spark, which blackens terminals.

I use a very tiny drop of 99.9% isopropyl alcohol on a bit of thin folded tissue paper or cotton bud to clean those battery contacts, and the contacts on the mount. Liberally use too much, and you risk isopropyl leaking into the case.

My similar looking BBS01B kit battery measures 0V at those terminals when switched off.

I think you're right. The inner two contacts do look adjusted.
