I’ve been using it for years, mostly for planning/recording trips. I haven’t yet needed it for proper navigation but I’ve tried it while walking, I started the navigation on my phone, turned the screen off and put the phone in my top pocket, I then had audio instructions as I walked ;)

No it’s not a recommendation as I’ve never had a need for such a product. There are also such things as waterproof helmet bags available.
