    Valve stem nuts

I was simply saying that locking two nuts together on the same thread is common in mechanical engineering. I didn't say I do it on my valve caps, merely that I understand the principal. You disagreed with me. Over 40 working in mechanical engineering has given me an understanding of how things...

    Cube acid one 500

I'm in the habit of easing off pedal pressure in anticipation of my gear change, if I'm in too high a gear going up hill, i try giving a little burst off power just before backing off and changing gear so as to keep my momentum. Riding with both hub gears and derailleurs my system seems to work...

    Cube Acid Hybrid 400w

I had the same cable in the seatpost tube but it wasn't long enough to exit the frame near the head. I don't need it so pulled it out ;)

    Valve stem nuts

I've never seen or done it on a bike valve but locking two nuts together on the same thread is common engineering practice, so to an engineering mind, locking a nut and a dust cap together on a valve stem makes sense :p

    Cube Acid Hybrid 400w

Same here but in 500 ;) I ordered mine last year, months before they were available, on the strength of Bosch's description of the motor and previously owned a earlier model Bosch/cube. I'm not dissapointed. Just over 300 miles and I'm still smiling  UK plug should be supplied as a legal...

    Cube acid one 500

I've been going analog for a couple of flat rides so the E-Cube has had a little rest, untill Saturday ! Hot, Yes but I was getting withdrawal symptoms so had to get out, I thought I'm not messing with assistance levels in this heat so dialled in sports mode and off I went. On the way out, 14...

    Disc Brake vs V Brake

A handful of brake with a Shimano BR-M315 is enough to lock the front wheel and should only set you back £20 or there abouts. I have them on two bikes ;)

HELP the wife went out to the garage

Better still, when she's not looking borrow a few more bikes from friends. You can then have a big giveaway gesture ;) the same friends can get given there own bikes back o_O your wife will see your stock drastically reduce and maybe then except what you have left

    Saddle sore

Certainly different, I've also tried many butt perches and found the medicus saddle from lidl suits quite well. I also wear gel shorts and if I'm going out for an hour or more I'll use buttonhole chamois cream aswell.

Finally a flaw with the Bosch Active

Not so much a flaw with the Bosch active motor then, more a lack of routine maintenance. To have two stays come adrift at the same time probably means they have been working loose for some time. The sort of thing that can happen on any bike especially after 2500km

    Easy Come ....East Go...

If it was where I worked, I make an effort to find the owner or atleast attach a small note to there padlock

    Easy Come ....East Go...

I hope you were kind enough to seek out the owner and inform them of there error. Or are you just going to wait untill it's stolen so you can say "I just new that would happen" Where I use to work that happened (just a lock around the front wheel) and it was stolen but also a well locked bike...

    Cube acid one 500

Whilst it's in my locked garage I use a kryptonite "D" lock & wall Anchor, at work a heavyweight chain & lock ( I work in converted farm buildings up a private road in the countryside ) The rest of the time I'm riding it, occasionally I do stop for refreshments, then I use a 1meter light cable...

    Cube acid one 500

All of them No but seriously, there's no " best mode " I'm up and down modes all the while, sports and turbo for pulling away in traffic, tour, eco and off if I'm enjoying a slower leasurly bimble around country lanes and when I'm on bridalways I might be using tour and sport. It all depends on...
