    One big hill

Whilst I cannot offer advice on your choices, my concern would be relating to any after sales service unless you're pretty handy with bikes. They need maintenance and from what I've learned from folks on here is that many local bike shops won't touch ebikes. Of course you'd hope not to...

    New member with first e-bike

Nice looking bikes you have I'm new to e-bikes too and like you, bought one to get my 'bike legs' back. Have had mine for a few weeks and have loved every trip out so far. Bought it as a commuter, but not ventured that far yet. We don't have many cycle lanes around me so I'm building my...

Which bike from a choice of 3??

If you still plan to buy through a c2w scheme, then cost should be less of a issue. I've bought my Wisper that way and was prepared to pay for the more expensive Torque version -but ended up with the SE which suited me better. Just happened to come in under £1k which was a bonus. It's really...

    Wish me luck!

Oh my, never seen anything quite like it myself. Just watched one of the Promo ads, so I can see the appeal for short hops around a city :) The wheels are uber small -but it does look cute and quirky at the same time. Hope it works out well for you.

Which bike from a choice of 3??

My advice, as a newbie to e-bikes, is simply that its best to go a test ride some bikes. You need to get a feel for it and speak to an e-bike specialist (not that I'm suggesting those who have already replied aren't :) ). An e-bike will need annual maintenance and buying local offers some...

    New rider

Me too.... But that usually involves shoes of a high heeled nature :)

    New rider

That's useful to know. Will have a look around but planning to change his car next year and get a tow bar fitted. Until then we're unlikely to fit any kit for the bikes. Need to get my bike legs trained first

    New rider

Interesting topic and I've saved some of the references for a later date -not sure Mr As little Festa could take the load of two e-bikes on a tow bar- lol. Thought I'd mention though that a google search proved you could get the Thule 931 for circa. £419 +pp -okay, still expensive, but worth...

    Help with problem

Can't claim to knowing much about its spec... but it is lush looking. Methinks whilst you need to follow your heart, be guided by the pros here -or just 'go for it' :)

I second that -and you can take bikes out on test runs. The area he's based has flats and hills, so you can get a real feel for the bike and make an informed decision. A must if spending around the £1,000 mark or more.

    Help with problem

Yep... I was mighty impressed too and long may that continue :) If you're looking for a new ride, personally, I wouldn't count Wisper out -my hubby bought the 905se and he loves it. His knees are pretty bad these days (too much sport when younger; ignoring injuries etc. etc.) -so the SE...

    Help with problem

Thanks David, but it was no real inconvenience. David picked it up, kept it for a couple of days and then returned -so the 'effort' was all his :) It was just unlucky it failed on a ride out on one of the hottest days we've had this year -but I did manage to ride it 'unassisted' on the flat...

    Help with problem

Well.... seems it was a faulty sensor, which (thanks to David, EC) is all now fixed and I'm back out and about on my lovely bluey :) Might be my imagination, but it seems to be going a lot more smoothly now - picks up on the pedal assist really nicely and the smile is well and truly back on my...

Halfords Carrera e-Bike now only £799.99

Can't comment on those savings -but it's not VAT but Income Tax deductions that are the 'savings'. Basically whatever monthly cost you end up paying through the 'salary sacrifice scheme' is deducted from gross. In my case I will save £241 against the £995 price tag. Definitely worth doing if...

    Be gentle with me...

Hey there, Nice looking bike you've got yourself there :) I've only just started my e-bike adventure, with something a little more modest, but like you, does put a smile on my face. Enjoy being able to get back out on the trails with the lads and I hope your hand gets better soon.

Was on a road.., but yes, I agree. My dealer is on to it and it might need a new sensor. That's the joy of buying a good brand and getting first class after sales service.

    Help with problem

Thanks David, have left a message with David from EC but I know he's away this weekend. Will call you Monday if needs be, just a shame my bike will be out of action on this gorgeous weekend :(. But these things happen Susan

Thanks for such a quick response Tomtomato. We had to leave bikes at home and went out in the car, so I'll ask hubby to have a look when we get back home
