    Oxydrive Kit

d8veh, Thanks for those comprehensive replies. I am beginning to think I should send my Giant Anthem up to you and get you to fit the Oxydrive conversion kit and do the umpteen necessary modifications. Then again, I could just leave well alone and enjoy the bike as it is.

    Oxydrive Kit

Old_Dave, Thanks for the links. d8veh, Is your reed switch solution for the hydraulic brakes standing up to the test of time? There seem to be so many different reed switches on the market. What type do you recommend? Assuming I had to recell the battery today, how much would a set...

    Oxydrive Kit

Dave, thanks for that reply. You maybe overlooked my non-Hollowtech questions above. It is possible that with pedelec only (no throttle) there may be no actual need for brake cut out switches, just stop pedalling!

    Tonaro Bighit Battery Information

Frank, I could be wrong but I think if you read the Oxydrive bike kit Full Users manual V.1.2, (second one down) you will perhaps gain a clue as to why this cutting out is happening on your Tonaro: OXYDrive? -Support d8veh also refers to the 5 different pedal assist levels in this thread...

    Oxydrive Kit

eddio, Thanks for your reply. I am sorry but it is difficult to tell anything from that photo. Do not take offence! In any case, my Hollowtech crank is absolutely flush with the push-fit Shimano bottom bracket, so how do I fit a speed sensor?

    Oxydrive Kit

Dave, that looks a seriously impressive piece of kit. Is there much difference in the handling between a front hub bike and a rear hub one? I was under the impression that a rear hub was better/safer. I can understand that the front hub does not need to bother about any conflicts with the gear...

    Tonaro Bighit Battery Information

I would not worry too much about how many lights are on. Those displays are not particularly accurate in my experience. You need to measure the fully charged battery voltage, then measure it again on a run, say, every 5 miles. Also make a note of the terrain and amount of assistance used. The...

    2013 BH E-motion Neos

If Dave (d8veh) can source a suitable complete conversion kit and battery for around £500/600, then my preference would be to get a good quality full suspension bike as a donor. The Giant Anthems (and earlier NRSs) have very sophisticated and comfortable suspension systems. Also, they...

Regular exercise on an electric bike pays dividends

At my flu jab clinic yesterday there was a British Heart Foundation stand. I had a chat with the chap on the stand and told him that I had lost 22 lbs (10 kgs) in 8 weeks, thanks to healthy eating plus exercise on my electric bike. I picked up a very useful BHF booklet called “So You Want To...
