    New E-Bike

Here is one of many threads on the Crossfire cutting out problem: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/faulty-ecarrera-crossfire.30229/ There are other more suitable bikes in that price bracket, such as the Woosh Rio and with better customer support: http://wooshbikes.co.uk/?rio-mtb Why not...

    Batribikes

Boo22, Welcome to the Pededelecs Forums. I have no experience of Batribikes, but of the two models I would go for the Alpha with the rear hub motor as opposed to the Quintessential with the front hub motor: https://www.batribike.com/product/alpha-white-shadow This thread may be of use to...

    Halfords carrera vengeance motor shudder/smell

The range will not be any different on the replacement bike. 8.8ah won’t take you far on full power. I agree with Jonah. If possible, get your money back and buy something more suited to your specific requirements from a dealer who will give you decent customer service and support. Halfords...

    Woosh Rio FB/LS

Ken, I would still go for the Rio because of its superior hydraulic brakes and the 11T sprocket. NB There is no need to have chunky MTB tyres! Woosh will fit Schwalbe Marathon Plus road tyres or similar. They are virtually puncture-proof and with low rolling resistance. I ride on the road...

    Woosh Rio FB/LS

Following on from my earlier post (#3) recommending the Woosh Big Bear on http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/gears.32320/#post-454561 I think perhaps you would be better off with the Woosh Rio MTB because it has a rear hub motor and therefore there can be no front wheelspin problem (Big...

    Crossfuse-E Vs Crossfire-E

kingsknight, Welcome to the Pedelecs Forums. There are numerous posts on these forums about the Carrera Crossfire-E cutting out, so caveat emptor. See post #2: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/faulty-ecarrera-crossfire.30229/ The Suntour Halfords bikes are well known for cutting out...

Cheap FreeGo Eagle & bike servicing by Dorset charity, Hope2Cycle

I know that the Classifieds section is for private sales by members, but I have come across a registered charity (number 1129439) called Hope2Cycle which promotes health and wellbeing in the Dorset area. The charity deals predominantly with non-electric bikes and has shops and workshops (in...

Oh dear, another quandary on which kit??

GLJoe, While a hub motor can be fine for a number of situations, for people needing to deal with steep hills, I think your logic is back to front, and its the crank drive that's 'far more forgiving'. I am not getting into a debate over hub motor vs crank motor. People must test ride different...

Oh dear, another quandary on which kit??

IMO, a hub motor is far more forgiving and gives plenty of power assistance at all times regardless of cadence. All you need to do is select the right gear for where you feel most comfortable.

Oh dear, another quandary on which kit??

As Benjahmin points out: Crank drive motors need to operate in their sweet spot to deliver their power effectively and not bog down. This is done by being in the right gear for the motor, this may not be the right gear for your preferred cadence. I would recommend that you go for a hub kit as...

Purchase advice needed - budget of £1000

Damian, I have no personal experience of the electric Crossfire-E, but the model is mentioned on several posts on these forums. I recommend that you search for other members comments on the Crossfire. One example: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/faulty-ecarrera-crossfire.30229/...

Purchase advice needed - budget of £1000

Hi Damian, Welcome to Pedelecs Forums. You are going about things the right way by doing plenty of advance research. There is plenty of useful advice and information on here. One of the most important things on an electric bike is the battery, the quality of the internal cells and its...

HH66, Welcome to the Pedelecs Forums. I have no personal experience of the Crosspath e: https://www.cyclerepublic.com/carrera-crosspath-electric-hybrid-bike.html Have a look at more threads under “Which electric bike should I buy?” such as this one...

    Gears ?

KEN OPENSHAW, I posted in Introduce Yourself by mistake. You can read about the Eco Expedition here: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/eco-expedition.24306/ The price may be attractive but, without even considering the Eco's other features, a 10ah battery is not going to be much use on...

    Gears

boyabaouttown, Some people may say that an electric bike doesn’t need 2 or 3 chainrings, but like Benjahmin I live in a hilly area and I can vouch for the fact that they are essential. You will soon learn how to operate the gears and be very thankful that you have them. Understanding gears...

    New to Ebikes

I can certainly vouch for the Oxygen S-Cross MTB, having just bought one. Oxygen bikes are good quality items as many on these forums will attest. Also the Oxygen support is first class. 1.The Oxygen can be derestricted. 2. The Oxygen has 27 gears. The middle chain ring comes in very handy on...
