    Advice on new ebike

Stu1955, I think you have answered your own question with the Woosh Rio Fat Boy LS. No doubt Woosh will be on here soon to add further suggestions. Just like cars, electric bikes depreciate considerably and also above a certain purchase price level the law of diminishing returns applies. I...

Help in choosing E Bike. ( Mountain Bike )

The 500 is preferable because it will give you a greater range. Then again the 400 may be sufficient for your requirements depending on the terrain and total weight carried.

serious Commute -is it even possible

I would have to do it legally as I drive for a living and won't risk my licence in any way. I do not wish to put you off getting an electric bike but the above coupled with your very long work hours and the dual carriageway route would make me consider a used 125cc scooter, especially in the...

Would you pay £500 more for the Raleigh Grand Tour over Halfords Crossfuse - both with activeline +

jayjay, Would you pay £500 more for the Raleigh Grand Tour over Halfords Crossfuse - both with Active Line Plus? Personally, no. On price it would appear to be a straight fight between the discounted Crossfuse and the Oxygen S-Cross ST. £1600 less any discount via British Cycling etc...

    Kalkhoff Agatu electrical repair work

4bound, There is a similar tale here: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/kalkhoff-pro-connect-s-2010-2011-wiring-help-please.19843/ The link in post #11 gives error 404, but the OP did get success by emailing Pro Cycling-Golla: https://www.pro-cycling-golla.de/ Email...

    practical step-through

Woosh, Just as a matter of interest, what rear sprockets do you use on the Santana 3? 14T-28T, 11T-32T? It would be very useful to know this information for your whole range of ebikes. This omission also applies to many other dealers, so please don't think that I am just picking on Woosh...

Hi - I have joined this forum because I really need help

jayjay, As RobF says, “You appear to have got on best with the Oxygen, which is a strong hint.” I have an Oxygen S-Cross MTB which is similar to the ST model and I am extremely pleased with it. http://www.oxygenbicycles.com/e-bikes/s-cross-st http://www.oxygenbicycles.com/e-bikes/s-cross-mtb...

Daily 17km Commute - some steepish hills..

MostlyHarmless, Personally I think a non-folding electric bike would be more suitable for the 17km journey (x2). There is a similar thread here which you may find useful: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/not-owned-a-bike-for-12-years-lots-of-questions-before-i-buy.32484/

Hi - I have joined this forum because I really need help

jayjay, Electric bikes can have throttles: Harmonisation with EU law has had an important effect on electric bikes with ‘twist and go’ throttles that can take the bike to full speed without any pedalling at all. From January 1 2016, the only throttles legal within the UK’s EAPC legislation are...

The Rio MTB is better value and has the larger capacity battery for superior range. Hopefully the Rio’s 8 gears will cope with your hills. Both bikes have the same 25 kph (15.5 mph) cut-off and both can be ridden in the event of battery failure. The Rio is fitted with chunky Kenda...

You can either use the existing seat on the Suntour seat post or better still change the seat and use the Suntour. A comfy seat is not usually enough on its own given the state of the UK's roads. The Suntour seat post makes it feel like you have full rear suspension. The Woosh Rio is a good...

Not owned a bike for 12 years, lots of questions before I buy....

mark taylor, You are doing the right thing by doing your research ahead of purchase and not the other way round. Both the Oxygen MTB and Woosh Krieger have decent hydraulic disc brakes which are better than the cable disc of the Oxygen CB. Cassette/freewheel gearing: Oxygen CB has 14T-34T...
