    My New Scott eBike

I think the main reason is to keep it more compact and aesthetically pleasing, though I agree it will definitely wear quicker and I personally wouldn't have been bothered by a "normal" sized crank at the front. There must be some extra resistance, but I really didn't notice it riding...

    My New Scott eBike

The 27.5 is a smaller diameter than the 29...29" would have given a smoother ride, but slightly less agile around the ruts, roots and rocks up and down the offroad sections. I'm used to a 26" wheel on my conventional Saracen, so this was a happy medium between 26 and 29 inch, and it worked very...

    My New Scott eBike

Today, I thought i'd really test the Scott e-Aspect 710, and headed out with the intention of climbing Brown Clee Hill and finding a way across to Clee Hill, and back home. The last time I did this, I was 14..It was on a conventional Townsend "mountain bike", a 50 mile round trip and took all...

    Best electric bikes under 2000

Xenion 650 has a classic bosch motor. A 2014 Cube will have a newer Gen 2 Bosch...and probably the Active variant if it's under/around £2k

    Best electric bikes under 2000

The BH Neo Extreme only comes with a 9Ah battery, and brand spanking new versions are called the Extreme Lite, and still only come with a 9Ah battery, so they may well be unwilling to move too much on price. UK price is 1999 pounds, so if you can get it for less than that equivalent, it's a good...

Thieves steal £2,500 electric bike then call owner for re-charge help

I'll be cycling the flashy £2,999 bike to Milton keynes and leaving it in the busiest part of town...but only for about 20 mins as it's worth £2,999 and I wouldn't want it to be stolen. By the way...I will be willing to sell keys and charger should anyone need to get some for some strange...

Thieves steal £2,500 electric bike then call owner for re-charge help

Great bit of advertising for the shop that.... they even got their name mentioned on Radio 2! Perhaps I should leave our new full suspension Scott out in town for a bit and see what happens? It's worth £2,999. Did I mention it's worth £2,999?

    Neo Cross Review After 1000km

As a foot note to a great review, the 2014 battery is 11.6Ah not 13Ah...though it is sometimes described as a 12Ah battery.

Samsung and LG entering the e-bike market

At a quick glance the Bosch Classic is a lower slung ,more angular motor and comes with either the original HMI display/button console or Intuvia in Silver surround. The Active and Performance 2014 motors are more of a sideways teardrop shape and are more compact. Active has a Silver/Grey...

ebike to keep up with road bike for 40 miles

You've probably tried everything with regards to error 13..but just in case: Don't overtighten the handlebar bracket (2 screws)-just tight enough to stop rotation without a heavy push.Overtightening or moving it along to the wider part of the bar is usually what causes it to crack, but not...

ebike to keep up with road bike for 40 miles

That's fair enough Eddie...once bitten twice shy and all that! I think i'd be the same as you to be honest after months without my bike. I won't recommend this to you then as your next purchase: BH Emotion NEO Jumper 650B :p

ebike to keep up with road bike for 40 miles

I know you've had a bad time of it Eddie, and I do sympathise, but I can only state my experience with them- If we've needed a BH part, it's been with us within a few days, and if we've needed to send anything back for testing and return it's usually been within 2 weeks, though granted, there...

ebike to keep up with road bike for 40 miles

Hi Doclatham, BH did indeed have spoke issues on their earlier releases of the Neo range, but this was addressed some time ago now. The distribution was changed from Maxtrack to BH-UK last year with no interuption in availability of bikes. As a dealer, the back-up from BH has been equal to any...

    haibike bosch motor?

Nothing wrong with the Classic motor that a little attention can't easily resolve....Listen for creaking/cracking noises which usually point to a needed re-dispersal/Addition of Grease to the sprung washer. Allow £500 approx for a new battery if needed, and keep that in mind when haggling on the...
