    Tyre sizes

yes... you'll be fine. You can run narrower tyres with no issues. I have run full on road tyres on my MTB wheels for training in the past so I can get used to the bike position, or use it on a turbo trainer. You'll have no problems.

UK to Harmonise Electric Bike Law with Europe?

UK to Harmonise Electric Bike Law with Europe?

whats the realistic chance of being caught doing anything illegal? due to an admin mistake with my insurance company, I drove for 4 months with no car insurance... including a 4000 mile trip around Europe. Didn't get caught. Would I do it knowingly... no.

    Rockshox Reverb Seatpost

Check the air pressure in there. Its unlikely to be the temperature causing the problems with the fluid. There needs to be about 250psi in there I think.

    Seeking clarity on the law

Rob... you're not even reading what I'm saying now. When did I say there was a risk of prosecution for riding a KTM? I've said clearly that there is no risk of prosecution for riding the stock 250w KTM bikes we sell. I could not be more clear on that.

    Seeking clarity on the law

no, but I have actually researched and know what I'm talking about based on professional advice the people that "ACTUALLY" know. I suspect David is 'having an educated guess" which when it comes to legal matters isn't that sensible. Have you not got life / health insurance for your mortgage...

    Seeking clarity on the law

the blokes who company depends on not being sued to the max, in the event of an accident involving one of our bikes, who has actually done the research into it, with professional people. We've even had some guy attempt to sue us because we wouldn't tell him how to de-restrict his bike. That...

    Seeking clarity on the law

Totally legal rob, do you think with a name like KTM and Bosch / Shimano / panasonicwe'd have launched the eBikes into the UK in 2012 without a substantial risk assessment of our liability? Edit... Should probably rephrase that to say. When I say "legal" I mean totally safe to use without...

Hydraulic brakes on new bikes bought online?

Sorry - ignore me! Read "buying hydraulic brakes online" clearly missed some key words from sentence! I'll blame the small screen on my phone and try harder next time :)

Hydraulic brakes on new bikes bought online?

no necessarily.... in many cases the hoses are VERY long, so would benefiting from cutting. All the parts are supplied with most brakes to do this. All you need is a decent pair of cutters. The brakes won't need bleeding if you do this. But its something that you don't HAVE to do. Also...

    2015 KTM eGnition Plus

When KTM re-lauched the eGnition last summer we were pretty excited. A 150mm travel bike was something we wanted in the range for our UK customers. We were (VERY) disappointed when we found out that the bike was going to be specced with the Bosch Speed motor, meaning it couldn't really be...

    Fast Legal Bike

True, but that doesn't mean they'd use the bike if it was faster. And again this isn't my opinion its established research. People don't cycle because of the perceivedrisk (not the actual risk), the weather, the security at the destination, sweating etc etc. an Ebike would help with lots of the...

    Fast Legal Bike

I agree with your first points, but I'm afraid there is a mountain of research done by the likes of British Cycling, Sport England, the CTC, sustrains and many many more that give a wide range of reasons why people in this country don't see cycling as an a option for a form of transport and I'm...

    Fast Legal Bike

Yes, I've never argued that it has happened yet have I? I've said since day 1 that it hasn't happened, but an accident involving a powerful eBike is inevitable. It will happen, the seriousness of the accident is the debatable bit, and the bit that anyone riding an illegal eBike is chancing...

    Fast Legal Bike

it was an example. I clearly wasn't saying riding a bike with a dongle is as bad as drink driving. The law isn't that simple, and I'm afraid its not even up to the police to decide really who is responsible as far as liability goes. If you ran over a guys on an illegal bike, you wouldn't...

That with the addition of .... "are you feeling lucky?" Because it will just be a matter of bad luck or good luck to see if your the first person in the UK who is the test case for this kind of thing.

ok, you seem happy to live in a world of assumption and guess work to give you the comfort you need. Good luck with that. Because .... the crucial thing you're STILL missing is. Because they are an insurance company, and its their job to get out of paying the xThousand pounds of medical...

    Fast Legal Bike

ok... so you asked for an example - I gave you one, but now you've raised another point, which you are saying is much more likely. So lets say you're that cyclist who has been wiped out by the clot motorist and they are refusing to pay your legal and medical bills. Do you really think the fact...
